whats your fps like in the fear demo?

I get probly around 40-60 solid, except it skips around sometimes. Mostly maximum, by the way. Im an asshole. Oh, turn off soft-shadowing if it's on.

What exactly does soft shadowing do?

it blends the shadows. with it off shadows are much more jagged.

I have a good computer and can play pretty smoothly on high settings but I get like one second slowdowns every once and a while. I put it down to medium and it still looks great and I get less of those brief slowdowns.
