TAC to shut down FA server?

There's a Poll over at the Armory's website. It asks "Should the Armory become BF2 Fulltime?". The implication seems to be "Should we shut down the Firearms server". G'head, go over there and vote how you see fit, please. I think the whole community should have a vote in this, rather than just the Armoury Forums Frequenters.

I seem to recall them rattling the sabre before on this issue, and I think it's obvious how that turned out. That would be a stupid decision, unless everyone associated with TAC has somehow decided to uniformly quit FA.

you'd be surprised! as far as I can tell, of the 50+ active members, only a small handful (less than ~5) play more than an hour a week. and even at that, less than 15 or so play at all per week!

although tac has been made fun of alot in the past, i think this just comes to realize, how important they were, and are to the fa community, even though it may not seem like much is left

Bull, if you killed TAC everyone would just start playing on "~)DJD(~ *Funtimes* Server 3.0" or YIS. Either way, I'm probably going to shut down my FA server if this trend continues.

I love FA but seriously I can't play it alone. During the day there is nobody in the server until late afternoon and then only maybe 10 players. Even at night there are maybe 10 on 10 and I don't see any new players coming in since FA has no official website.
I would love to have a server running forever but if nobody is there then the money is wasted. Servers aren't free and we at TAC don't ask anyone to donate so it goes by what money comes in and the direction that we want to take in the future. Right now BFII takes a lot of the members' time from FA.
If the TAC server closed I don't think it would kill FA because it is the TAC server totally but because it is the one place that you could always go to have a good pub and not get harrassed too much. It is like a safety zone and if TAC goes then it might just unravell all the other servers (5) because people, including me, will think well if TAC doesnt have a server then FA must be dead. LOL. No offence Rob.

Well not all the admins/senior counsel is pushing to kill it. I and a few others are trying to keep it alive for as long as possible. As long as donations are coming in towards the FA server then we keep it, because those who donate have a say in the matter of closing down the server or not and you don't have to be a TAC member to have a say, if you have donated towards The Armory FA server YOU DO have a say to keep the server going because you are supporting it by donating. :D

I donate for the FA server because I love playing the game, and I really don't care for BF2 it's just too slow and boring unlike FA which gives you that fast pace adrenaline rush :D

tac server is down tehy are moving hosts.

WaW needs to come out, but probally wont be released til after the new year. My guess is may of 06.

I suggested considering giving people until end of year so they can add upgrades needed to play bf2, to their wish lists. But amount of donations mentioned for fa and how many use server weekly, will have to be considered.

I've only logged 6 hrs in bf2 so far. It seems good. Is different to me from FA. Kinda like comparing chess to checkers. I don't always feel like a good game of chess. Sometimes i like a better known quick fast pace game of FA, if there are enough in it. This means picking the times when players are their. Atleast one can quickly have look to see who there. It sometimes is annoying how long it takes to load bf2, find good ping server, load still more to get in, wasting much more time, just to find out the map is changing or the teams are one-sidedly frustrating. Nice for awhile atleast, for some of us, to leave frustration of one game and go to another like FA. :D

I don't really think the loss of any one server is going to 'kill' FA. It may diminish some peoples' interest, however, those that want to play the game will find one of the other servers to play on. If the game is liked enough, I'm sure there's always going to be someone willing to put a server up.

wouldnt matter, there are plenty of servers for FA, no one plays.

There are roughly 40 players at any given time playing, that is all. There are hundreds of players but hardly anyone playing. LOL.
