Howdy. I took me a while to get back to this forum, finally managed it. Remember that SVT I was parading around before the formpocalypse? Range Report time.

I found accuracy was great, much better than expected. Though it had reliability problems. Once an ejected catridge failed to fully eject and once the bolt stuck closed. I was able to fix both problems at the range, still a bummer. Hard to take apart too.

Five shots at 100 metres. Not too shabby for a rilfle thats been through a war.

You're talking about an SVT40 right? Can we get some pics? :D

If you tried to have on in this thread it's a red x :(

I can.

And the SVT has to be one of the most pleasant looking rifles in my opinion. Thought that ever since I got a "Weapons of WWII" book freshman year of high school (my that seems a long time ago....) and saw it in there.

Very nice. SVTs are fairly rare, aren't they?

I'm not sure i would say "rare" but very uncommon yes.
I know where there is one for sale in OKC right now, but it is missing the magazine.

The reason i say that, is "rare" you have to search high and low for, sometimes for years.

SVT's you can find if you look for them, may take some time, but all depends.

or put it this way, an original unfired M1903-a3 is rare, but thats just my opinion on it.

I wouldn't say that long.....there are always some being advertised for sale in Shotgun News and at the monthly SAXET show here there's always a feller with some, but I'm just not willing to give him $450+.

Yeah goat thats what i ment, i was using the unfired 03-a3 as an example of rare, svt's are somewhat uncommon though in this area.

You have no idea how incredibly stupid that statement is.

Yeah, I seem to have no trouble whatsoever finding any Mosin Nagants from the war for sale in Uncle Henry's, I would say they are about as easy to find as an SKS.

Russian-made (or to be more specific, Soviet-made) guns are without a doubt the most commonly encountered firearms on the planet, thanks to their incredible mass-production, and all the satellite states that also mass-produce(d) the guns.
