I'd say AK47, especially after 3.0, as its groupings are getting unrealistically tight even when firing over long range despite its severe recoil, the cartridge which it chambers have greater stoppng power than 5.56 caliber weapons, and it features a bayonet just in case you want to conserve ammunitions/remove your adversaries sliently, plus a very cool nomen reloading anime..........

From 2.9 experience (I still have to get CD and find a server at peak hours) I'd say G3. Especially with Nomen. I think I've gotten more kills with it than with all the others combined; even though it has a 20 round clip, it's still very accurate even if you don't have Marks1. On certain other maps, I'd have to choose the M4, simply because I can attach a silencer on it and kill people silently.

M16. Always and forever.

I'd say the AK47. It's served me remarkably well lately.

M4 is fucking good too.

M4 with stealth lets you create single shot aggravation from far away, without revealing your position immediately.

m14 and g36 are the two worst

famas
g3a3
ak74
47

are all good...but famas is #1 because of rof

SR's

ssg = easiest and best
m82 = 2 shot kill retardation (although this gun doesn't register for me well)
svd = good rifle....the worst for "anti-snipers"

The only two that don't compete well are the m14 and the g36. The rest are all frag machines...

well if you play ps_marie and sd_durandal(during sniping) I dont think alot of people choose Fa-mas
AK-47 is probably the best Auto in CQC and medium-long range use single as sniping
trouble is you can't aim basically when you move.
Whereas the M16
Has a awsome accuracy and good for sniping trouble is that m16 make me lose when the target is medium-close you dont have the auto witch makes most user lose.

M14 is good if you know how to use it, I have on numerous occassions faced two or three enemies with automatic rifles, and I have taken them out with the m14. It has awesome damage and accuracy.

Can't go wrong with the AK47 because when you run out of ammo you have the trusty Bayo to finish the job :D

I really like the M4. semi for long range shots, full auto for cqb, and being able to put on a suppressor is why i like it.

well, it is a great weapon- if it registers.. which it seems to register very very rarely on most servers compared to other guns. so thats really its only downside. but the g36 just went down the shitter since like 2.8 when it was godly.

the g3a3 in 2.9 was the best. Now in 3.0, the ak47 does all the talking.

well Im not really impress anyone who kill me using FA-MAS and AK series, gea3 atliitle impress on M14 and G36. but if I see someone kill me or killing spree continuly using bayounant or M16 cause those weapon just arent useful in most case

I myself switch frequently between what AR's i like to play with, although i do find my self with higher K/D when using m4. I like all the Ar's but i cant play w/g36 anymore and im trying to learn m14, but....

Modest Genius
September 1st, 2005, 11:00 PM
in terms of the FAIR ARs, g3. good accuracy, high power, decent capacity and with nmc a fast reload

obviously the famas is the best really, since whenever i play with it my ratio doubles (from 3:2 to 3:1), which is plainly unfair

`tek
September 1st, 2005, 11:10 PM
All the ar's but the m14 and g36 are good. m14/g36 MUST be used in scope in order to put down the nme which limits movement.

Famas is teh easiest gun to use because of the high rate of fire, but the m4 / 74 / 47 / and the g3 are good too.

G3 and FA-MAS............I use them all the time. The G3 can be a little hard in close combat but I'm learning, and I feel I'm getting better and better. If I want to assult I use FA-MAS, but I only do that if I got some skill, like stealth and nomenclature. Marksmanship 2 is not so important to me because I think the FA-MAS and the G3 is accurate enough.

i think personally the m16 is the best at long range, and the m4 is pretty hot for the medium range to close range, i dont know about the ak i havnt used it alot, but when i did it was pretty sweet, never really mastered it though.

I wish the FAMAS should cost alot more mainly because in Real in basic was a killer machine super good accurate, weight and range espically Awsome in ROF it should weight to at least 17 so we won have FAMAS nub + Claymore nub together
I have one question for a pro and l33t who uses AK47 and FAMAS
Can you kill people in same ratio as in G36 and M16(NO m203)???
If you can your a really a l33t but if you can't obvisously the weapon is the l33t not you :D

anyways, I think the ak47 is the best overall. Famas is still close range. G3 is far.

i like to use the famas for small maps. ak74 for any size map, it just owns. g3a3 i love to snipe single shot, and rushing with it is deadly in the right hands. i hardly use the ak47 so i dunno. m16 is totally noobed, well for me anyways, its too damn accurate. i can't hit shit with the g36e unless i have marks 2 :s i hardly use the m14 so i dunno about that.

ssg - good for taking out other snipers.
dragonov - gg crouch strafe. everyone thinks they're leet when they use it, but it requires no skill. when people kill me with it, it takes them like 5 shots.
m82 - very noobish. you don't even need a headshot to kill with it. but its good for maps like durandal and marie.

From my experience, I'd say the G3. It's powerful and extremely accurate. I started using it a few days ago and my average K:D ratio has sky rocketed. Getting Nomenclature early offsets the small magazine and makes it a killing machine.

let's look at the specs
7.62x51mm (.30cal) rifle cartridge, which helps to provide a lot of stopping power from a relatively portable weapon. it is heavy, however it is also quite rugged and reliable. you could pour sand down the barrel all day and it would still fire; run over it with a truck and it would fire.

see, Kalashnikov made a brilliant move when he decided to give the working parts of the weapon a little "room to breathe;" it essentially allowed for some corrosion or corruption of the mechanisms through water leaks, collection of dust particles, sandy or dirty conditions, etc.

in its most popular configuration, it comes standard with a fairly beefy bayonet, and i believe it also comes with a cleaning kit in the stock. it utilizes a .30cal box magazine, and it is relatively easy to reload; you don't face a great amount of resistance when you pull on the bolt. and by the way, the bolt's handle is a good size so those of you with big hands will have no trouble pulling it back.

now let's look at the numbers. the soviets equipped pretty much their entire military with this weapon; that means at least ten million were produced JUST for the soviet armed forces. now take into consideration that the USSR provided AK's to china, a nation with roughly 2 million personnel in its army. also consider that china passed ak's onto the NVA, Viet Cong, and the North Korean Army and that they continued to prolifrate these and other weapons while doing so.

now i can't recall where, but i've heard that as many as 50 million original AK's, and their many copies, are in existence... has any firearm ever been so widely proliferated as to have around 50 million originals and copies produced, not to mention that many states produce their own copies (czech republic, sweden i believe, and i'm sure there are plenty more).

i can't cite any sources for my info; if you can support or dispute anything mentioned here, feel free to correct me.

My favorite was the G3A3 for long range jobs with some close-up protection and the M4 for close pwnage or stealth. But the best all around rifle was the AK47. Accurate, high damage, bayonet, good reload speed with Nomen... throw a GL on, upgrade the fire rate a bit, and you'd have the FAMASx2.

it utilizes a .30cal box magazine, and it is relatively easy to reload;

You mean besides the fact that the charging handle is on the wrong side and the magazines require that funky rock-n-lock motion? An AK will always lose a reloading contest to a rifle like the FAL or AR-15, especially if you have to chamber a round.

The AK-47 is reliable, uses a decent cartridge, and looks cool. But the stock was made by a midget(Or so it seems to my big American arm), the cartridge has a rainbow trajectory, the sights are crappy, reloads are relatively slow, and it's not the most balanced of rifles. It will do the job well but it doesn't shine, except in the reliability area.

.308 IS a thirty caliber round! ".30cal" usually refers to 30-06, which uses .308 caliber bullets.
