If you were wondering why you were banned - it was probably because your kill/death ratio was high.

If you read the MOTD when you joined, you would have seen it's for new to medium skilled players only, and the reason you were banned is perhaps you weren't listening to an admin and also pwning others. The policy is if a player can massacre the whole opposing team with something automatic they are kindly asked to switch to low armor and a pistol to keep things balanced.

Request an unban there in the complaints forum if you still want to play. Post your Steam ID and your alias.. and when you were banned and the reason.

About the ping - it's to cater for those with poorer connections.

I go on yis and famas it up. Then they tell me not to famas, so I ak it up. Then the server just lags out, so its all good.

Monk, allow me to offer a little unsolicited advice.....in the future, whenever somebody comes around screaming about being banned for those reasons, just don't bother responding. These people have been told time after time after time again what's in the MotD that they don't bother reading, and it invariably devolves into the disgruntled (whom nobody is forcing to join the server) telling you how you "should" run the server.

They've never caught on, and they never will. Just save yourself the aggravation of people demanding that you cater to their wishes to the exclusion of the stated server mission and ignore them.

Update: My steam account has now been disabled. Of the reasons given on the steam website, the only possibility is that because YIS is Vac-protected, I am now banned from Steam.

That supremely sucks. Any ideas?

I appreciate what you're saying GoatChomper.. I just think folk ought to be given a second chance.. perhaps my philosophy is flawed and wasted on some. Either way it's all good, it's only a game and not much can come of it (except for that korean guy who stabbed someone at a lan party 'cos he shot him in cs).

Only reason I can tell you're banned from all VAC servers Klif is somehow inadvertently you either had a cheat installed (used or not doesn't matter with steam) or a config file whos name just so happened to be on the list of banned configs.

Thats pretty retarded if a name of a config is on the banning list you are screwed. What if you are creative with naming your buy configs in cs? Your messages bound to keys? amx commands for servers?

I attempted to log in to my Steam account today, and received the "Account Disabled" message. After reading through the Answers section pertaining to this problem, I am stumped as to why I cannot log on to Steam. The reasons given as possible are Cheating, Piracy, Credit Card issues, Sharing or Trading Steam Accounts and/or CD Keys, and Hijacking. I can whole-heartedly and honestly say that I have no reason to believe that any of the aforementioned reasons should affect me. Thus, I am confused as to why I have been disabled. Can you fill in the blanks for me? And is it possible to have my account reenabled?

After verifying your proof of ownership we will be able to help you with your issue.Sad to say, when I bought Half-Life 2 a few months ago, I did it stupidly. YIS people don't understand simple logic, and are blatantly hypocritical. They're a bad attempt at being a justified version of TCO, and it's unfortunate the gullable people (surprizingly, Goatchomper so far in this thread) actually go for it. :cool:

Well, i doubt this thread is going to get any further. Klif, if you get your account reactivated and need/want to be unbanned, start a new thread or PM me to reopen this, or find contact details of anyone running YIS.
