Due to the more mature and at times hazardous nature of this discussion subject, a few additions to the standard rules are needed. Pay attention, because bullshitting or posting the wrong thing will have real life repercussions - legal or mortal.

* Don't post, request or hint at instructions for or information about illegally constructing or concocting items (suppressors, illegally 'homemade' firearms), chemicals or others (Explosives, corrosives, poisons etc.). And definitely none of that Anarchist's Cookbook bullshit. It's not just like warez, where you can talk about 'not' downloading a song and get off with it. People can, have been and will be injured as a result of their own or other people's stupidity, and one hell of a shitstorm will occur if this forum gets any kind of stained reputation because some mentally stunted cretin gets his hands in daddy's medicine cabinet.

Breaking the above rule will cause lengthy, sometimes permanent bans for the guilty parties.

* Don't make retarded 'hurrrrrrrrr look at thos paintball/airsoft fags buy a real gun' comments. Aside from it being a legitimate sport, many people that play it are held back by age limits for firearm purchases or local laws. If it puts enough razor wire up your crack to make you unable to contribute to the discussion at all, just don't post anything. It's incredibly easy to do: Do nothing. There! You did it!

* Super fun catchall: Don't be a dipshit. This includes but is not limited to: trolling, making worthless posts and dicking around with threads, such as necroposting (posting in a very old thread) without due cause. Note that necroposting for a good reason (asking for progess on an old project, for example) is fine. Many moderators and admins have a low tolerance for this brand of BS, and a few don't. Both kinds are very likely to read your post.

* Nobody is interested in bullshit war stories told by 14 year olds, and in pretty much every case people will pick up on your mistakes and call you out. This comes under the above catchall, but I have an especially low tolerance for raw dishonesty such as this.

* The weapons forum here and on the previous forum has developed seperately from the rest of the forum. Semi-off-subject posts will be okay, as long as they're suitable - it's not the second OTF, but some subjects don't directly match discussion about weapons/military yet will be shat upon/taken off topic if they were posted or moved to the OTF.

That said, enjoy.

Postscript: Some other mods were worried about the details of posting illegal information, specifically when something is illegal in, for example, only one country.

After discussion, we decided that if it's something that's perfectly legal in anywhere but somewhere like Venezuela, then there's no problem, but if there's something illegal in a few major countries (let's say GB, Sweden, France, Germany and Canada, but not the US) it'd probably get deleted. If there's something banned in that many places, it's probably going to be pretty shady stuff anyway, and not the kind of thing we want being posted about on the forum.

A good guideline for posters would be just don't post instructions for anything illegal for your country. If, by off-chance it's illegal elsewhere, it'd be unreasonable to place blame on them for it if it were to need deletion.

It's only happened 5-10 times through the whole life of the FA weapons forums, so i don't think we're going to have many superduper complicated grey-area cases on our hands.

A simple rule you should apply, folks.....if you think something might be violating OPSEC, then refrain from posting it. Simple, no?

-e- From SWATJester:In case you are EXCEPTIONALLY dense: OpSec is Operational Security. If, in the unlikley event that you see something on the forums here that would provide information to the enemy (weapon numbers, troop strengths, future movements, coming home on XX/XX/XX at XXXX:XX Hours aboard the XXXXXXX and will be coming from XXX seat) then let a mod know.
