Need help (FAQ didn't help me)

i need help...!!! i installed fa 3.0, but can't play it... i have steam, the newest. i opened 'Play Game' and couldn't find FA on the menu. i tryed installing into Valve/steam/steamapps, and nothing happend...

Install into /steamapps/ (your user id) / half-life.

i had it installed in my half-life folder, so i copied and pasted it into valve/steam/steamapps/(user id) and i re-opend steam and still nothing... should i re-sintall half-life into my steamapps folder then proceed by installing fa into that?

i found a server for FA on steam (in the servers window) and i opened it , wel attempted to do it, but when i did, i was taken to the browese games window. so if someone could tell the correct target path (in the properties) please tell me, or if thats not whats wrong, tell me. ty

Uninstall fa and then reinstall it.

You have it installed in the wrong directory. It has to be installed under steam

D:\Program Files\Steam\SteamApps\wak\half-life\firearms

still get the "browese games' window...

"C:\program files\valve\steam\steam.exe" -applaunch 70 -game firearms

that is the target of the desktop shortcut

C:\Program Files\steam\steamapps\willy_d_88\half-life\firearms

and that is the path of the file for firearms... still no worky... i've no clue what's wrong...
