I advise against anyone posting anything about gun safety (except for legal legislation etc.) here on this forum, and suggest you do a physical course. Anything that you post here could endanger the life/lives of those who read this or are in the presence of someone who is using inadequate firearms safety information from this thread.

Furthermore, Every weapon is different in it's safety precautions. Best to learn from someone who is actually legally qualified on the firearm you wish to learn about.

Or you could post that as a disclaimer and allow people make that connection for themselves. I really don't see that as a good reason to hold back information.

Anyway, as for the Canadian Firearms safety thing, i'm gonna put together a cheesy webpage and host it on Carli's webspace and then post a link when im done. A good site for canadian laws regarding firearms and just firearms in general is www.canadiangunnutz.com . If you are wondering about a particular law here in canada or just want to know how to clean your gun (or whatever else) just drop by and ask.

We actually gave money to a guy to go get a lawyer and challenge the government on the refusal to issue permits so that people with prohib firearms can take them to the range, hopefully getting the ball rolling for the repealment(is that even a word?) or some of these retarded gun laws. I'll post the results when i find out.

Fine, but you know, legality is worldwide. If someone follows your "expertise" on weapons, and they turn around and accidently kill someone down range, and say, "I was following information on weapons provided by soandso from this forum!", law enforcement can track you down (seeing that all IPs are logged) and arrest and charge you for providing that information, which was innaccurate and a variable to someone's death. If you want this as a disclaimer, fine. So be it, but just remember, you'll have to be the one to live with having caused the death of someone because of your apparrent "expertise".

I'm not going to post my own opinions, I'm going to take information straight from the handbook which the government of canada prints.

If i post something and someone misinterprets it, I'm not going to feel bad if someone shoots themselves because they couldn't follow instructions or they didn't have a head on their shoulders to double check facts and get advice from REAL PEOPLE before they decided to look down the barrel to see if a gun was loaded or some such.

Btw, i never said i was an expert. :)

Nah nah, sorry, you misunderstood me. I'm not saying you calimed to be an expert or anyone for that matter, but what I meant was people using their own experience on a weapon to teach others.

Then that would be legislation, right? ;)

And where did i mention i was going to post 'my expertise'? Either way, I'm not going to feel bad if someone regards something i say as the god honest truth and shoots him or herself in the face because they misread 'don't look down the barrel or a loaded gun' as 'look down the barrel to see if a gun is loaded' or something like that. People have to be responsible for themselves.

Then that would be legislation, right?
No, it wouldn't.

Peregrine Falcon, we had something similar to this on the old weapons forums, it was ok. I'll see if I can't find it somewhere.
