I just got a X2 4400+, upgraded from a AMD64 3400.

Windows background tasks load almost instantly, playing music in the background with rhapsody has absolutly no performance impact while playing games.

And they are only 250, word is they are going to stop making them soon, Im not sure if this is true, but for anyone looking for an upgrade, dual core is not bad at all :)

read the newest news thread: they're releasing a new socket revision, Revision F.

For Opterons.

I have the 3800+. (Paid at full price a week before price cuts. D=) Load almost never exceeds 50%. =) (But it seems like it maxes out at 50%, which could be some sort of horrible bottleneck. I never check during gaming.)

They'll stop making the 4400s because AMD doesn't want consumers to be confused over the differences between the 4400 and the 4200 (more cache), apparently. You can still get the X2 4200+ and X2 4600+ no problem.

I notice most online vendors still have all types at the moment, so they're either talking about retail environment or product availability in the near future.

Yea, I Guess the 4400s cost too much to make vs price.

Glad I got mine in time :D

the extra cache makes a real world difference I imagine, pisses me off that the affordable upgrades to my 4200 are the 4400 with extra cache (but no actual difference in clock speed) or the 4600 which has the clock speed but the same cache as I have currently. Weird product family if you ask me.

The cache doesn't make too much of a difference, from an article I read. It's usually around 5% increase.
