Congrats on that sexy M1, but I must chastise you...you really should be savin' that money for your higher-education days, if not for directly paying for housing/school then for extra comforts and things to make your college days more pleasant. I really hope you enjoy that gun while you can, I know I haven't been able to shoot more than a few hundred rounds in the past year due to school and working...but I know that when it's all said and done I'll be able to buy the stuff by the ton.

Okay, enough guilt trip...it is indeed SEXEH.

College is for... college boys... COLLEGE BOY!

Ya, but seriously, I'm in quite a transitional period in my life and if I decide to go to college, it will have to be a junior college as my grades and attendance in school were very poor, and it wont be for quite some time. In the meantime, I have a Springfield National Match M1A to fondle :D

Not to mention the rifle was paid for almost exclusively with money I received for my graduation.

How much did you spend on that beast? I plan on getting one the day I turn 18, which is in 4 months.

Might as well contribute. My collection is quite extensive, so only a few bits and pieces at this point :)

http://donut.xaled.com/files/Prototypeanpv07.jpg

This is a DSR No 1 chambered in .338 Lapua Magnum. It is made by AMP Technical Services out of Oberndorf Germany. You too can have one for the low low price of 20,000 USD, plus import fees. It is capable of hitting a target the size of a quarter at 500 yards, several times in a row. It is one of the more accurate 'production' rifles in the world. Too bad they dont make but 10 a year. I have put about 800 rounds through that particular rifle, purchased it from the previous owner, without them ever having fired it.

http://donut.xaled.com/files/jardine1911sm.jpg
What we have here is a customized Valtro 1998A1 (based on the 1911A1, with minor updates) built up by John Jardine and chambered in .45ACP. Yes, this is mine, and Yes, it is the same one that was featured in Guns and Ammo Magazine. Its not a safe queen, with over 8000 rnds through it. I just replaced the barrel last week. I also have a sister pistol done in two tone (and that one IS a safe queen.)

http://donut.xaled.com/files/riflecasesm.jpg
This started life as an innocent M4 look-alike (an "m4gery"). Eventually, i built it up to a freefloat handguard from Yankee Hill, a 24" stainless steel barrel (anodized by my gunsmith), a harris bipod, and variable optics. Very accurate for a semi-auto, normally score in the .22 - .40 MOA range (3 rounds in about 1/4th of an inch at 100 yards)

More gunporn as i bother to take public releasable photos. Expect things such as my M-14 (NFA on a form 4!, Registered, and convertable to full auto operation), an M16 (Again, NFA, Select Fire, Registered), and my prized m203 (Stupid situation, the m203 is a registered LBEXPDD, but the ammo is also an EXPDD! It costs 80 bucks to make the 40mm grenade, it costs 200 dollars making tax and 200 dollars transfer tax for civvies. 480 bucks because of taxes...)

It was rather nice of Guns and Ammo to give me the entire photoshoot, some of those pics are 10 megapixels in size. You can probably get a half decent ballistic match from my barrel in some shots :)

Man, own a DSR? That's pretty crazy. I'm sure if more weapon modellers knew about that, you'd be getting a lot of requests for reference shots :P

Alright, lets kick these forums off with a bang!

You, are a full of shit flake! How do I know this? Your God Damn AR... you didnt even get a good picture of say, an East Coast SAM-R with a Keriger barrel, or an SPR or ANY of any decency. You showed us a picture of a Bushmaster Varminter... Straight up factory gun. YHM does not offer a tube like that. While YHM does make the BMAS line of products for bushmaster, the vented aluminum handguard is put on the Varminter and availible from Bushmaster only.

Your scope, looks oh so much like a BSA. Again, flake. If you own a DSR, you're not going to have a cheezy Bushy Varminter with a 89 dollar scope riding on 20 dollar scope rings. Further more, you anodize aluminum.... you parkerize steel. Stainless steel is most commonly painted, with something like GunKote or Alumahyde...

Your DSR is so God Damn rare I'll bet you can't scratch up a photo with it saying "IchWarrior loefs teh cock! Im 4 reel!". On top of that, you cant show me a pile of .338 Laupua Magnum brass, your press, or even a God Damned reloading bench.

Your pistol, same thing. Wow, I went and found a picture of the internet and called it mine... Same deal, dude. You take a picture of with with a piece of paper with my God Damn name on it, and Ill kiss both sides of your ass.

This is a fine thread Towelie. I do not wish to overly detract from the direction of it so :

Hah, like any self-respecting American would buy a french assault rifle. Where's the pic of the FAMAS with the "white-flag lug" and cheese container?

As for the M4, I'd get an AR-15 or M4gery if I didn't live in commiefornia.

Sorry, just woke up after the flight. In the spirit of keeping this post nice and clean (HAHA, sure), i'll post another image from the 1998A1 series, and another of the DSR soon. When I get back to TX, I'll snap a quickie of my loading setup. And the .338 lapua brass, I've already reloaded my current stock twice. I havent put much effort into finding a reliable supplier of it it, and the supplier i have now is 1.20 a casing. I resize and trim it a few times, no need to buy a ton of it. I stumbled into the DSR, as I said, previous owner was selling it for a vehicle, got it cheap. Your right on the barrel, its parked. I also sometimes call magazines clips when I am half asleep. The handguard I got from yankee hill machine company, after touring their floor. We wanted them to make a few hundred specialized components for a (non-firearm) project that died on finances. Also, whats wrong with low cost optics on a low cost rifle? Works fine for me, and I am sure you have a cheap plinker yourself. I also have an SKS and a SAR, are you going to tell me I am not allowed to own those either? They were cheap. The funnest rifles are the cheap rifles, the ones you dont care about, the ones you can beat up, the ones you DONT cringe when you think about putting steel cased ammo into. The ones that you think "I'll clean it in the morning." If you are missing that basic joy of shooting, then I feel for you. Besides, I need top have some money to put in the gas tank of my damn excursion.

LOL, realized i forgot to post images.
EDIT: I changed the exterior pic to my larger copy, in case anyone wanted to think that i collected a mish-mash of pics.

No, I didnt do any of that work myself, 4wheelparts did it for me, and yes, I know it isnt a rock crawler or some other extreme 4x4, but its more than enough to take medium difficulty offroad trails, and is damn fine for rolling out to the middle of federal land in NV to go shooting, and do so in very nice comfort.

Took me no time at all on my DSL. Then again, you're in the heathen land of Australia.

That, by the way, is one sexy-ass pistol. Y'know, it's hard for me to think that there was a time in which I didn't like 1911s. Now, every time I see one I grow rather hot and bothered, and my underpants (if I'm wearing them kekeke) tend to shrink for some reason.

I think that after saving up a bit, I'm going ot be picking up one of these

http://www.armsbid.com/images/fra-8641.jpg

There's a shop nearby that has a bunch of them for sale, and I hear they're nice, quality rifles. Even though most people think they're ugly, I think they have a kind of unique beauty to them...

As for guns I actually have, my uncle gave me a Winchester Model 290 semi-auto .22 last year, and it seems to be a very nice little plinker.

This isn't mine, but it gives you an idea of how it looks.

I've got the hots for any rifle that can be made to look better with a little linseed oil :) Make sure you get one thats already cleaned, or you shall learn the horrible horrible agony that we collectors like to call 'cosmoline.' It will take you WEEKS to get that crap out of the stock (and DONT BAKE THE STOCK IN AN OVEN! Thats the worst thing you can do)

Just finished building this RRA 16" no ban for a buddy. M4gry, very basic, but a great rifle to learn the basic of marksmanship on. Carry handle is on its way later today, so I just slapped my junk reddot from my 10/22 on it. (Heh, needs taller rings or a tac mount of some sort) Probabaly gonna take it out this Saturday and run a few hundred through it.
