after installing the new 1.4 patch, i cant run the game.

just crashes right to desktop before even getting to the flash screen

Well shit. Looks like another reason for me to not download the patch. That and being able to play PoE2.

I bet the game still has the teammate name bug. You know, the bug thats been in the game for over a year now.

Aparently PoE2 team released a server patch that fixes the 1.4 "altered content" issue

With the release of the 1.4 patch for Battlefield 2 we have discovered a compatibility issue with the current PoE2 version. Anyone trying to join a server running 1.4 will get a modified content error and get kicked. However, we have already fixed this and a download link for servers running PoE2 is listed below. Please unpack the files to your mods/poe2 folder on your server to apply fix.


Great news, looks like I have a reason to get 1.4 after all.

The fix is for PoE2 servers and people running 1.4 trying to connect to them. Your problem happens on start up, so I don't think so.

It sounds like a problem with your refresh rate. If you're using a refresh rate unlocker, turn it off, and then restart and try it again.

You mean the one that says some of your enemies are your allies and some of your allies are actually enemies? I hate that. :mad:

No idea whether this is true or not, I've only played Road to Jalalabad and Karkand for a little over an hour. Haven't noticed it or heard anyone bitch about yet, for what it's worth.

Well, they've fixed it 3 times now. Last time they said it was unfixable because it had to do with that adminmod thingy, not BF2.

POE2 is awesome fun, I only hope we get more units to play with, the best thing about Desert Combat and its derivatives (DCX!!!) were the huge arsenals available to play with.

The 1.4 patch is the best yet from my point of view, hardly crashes at all now :p

Lol, I fired up PoE2 on Friday night after installing the patch and BLAM, it crashed to desktop within 5 minutes of me playing. I was a bit miffed. However, it's played nice since then and I'm putting it down to a random issue. I haven't played regular BF2 since starting PoE2, it's so much damn fun - especially that one woodland map with the helo in the middle.

Ugh...hate that map for the most part. Sometimes I get in the mood and have a blast on it but most of the time I wanna drive around in vehicles.

I'm masochistic like that, I loved playing the BF1942 Vietnam mod, EoE for exactly the same reason. Stalking through dense undergrowth never knowing the next seconds going to be your last...well at least until you respawn

Naw, it's not like that for me. If EVERYONE couldn't see through the mist/long grass then I'd be more than happy. As it is, people can see me while we're both lying down in the stuff but I have no such luck :( I usually just run, throw/launch grenades/shoot AP-RPG/bunnyhop until I trip on someone.
