Thoughts? Every year ending with "5" the prize goes to an anti-nuclear group....
Seems to me like under Baradai's watch, N.K has been more vocal than ever about their nukes, and played the brinkmanship game more than ever. Seems to me like under his watch, Iran has actively tried to gain nuclear weapons and reactors much more overtly than ever before.....
Yep, seems like exactly what the Nobel committee would go for. Hope he likes his 1.3 million.

Only the last three (including this year). Unless Cordell Hull, UNICEF, and Andrei Sakharov were anti-nuclear groups (hint: they aren't).

It's that great goddamn liberal conspiracy at work again.
Either way, he's a better pick for it than Bono.

Are you suggesting that it would be possible for it to go to a pro-nuclear group? Or perhaps you think they plan it so every five years (which seems mindlessly regular) they chose an anti-nuclear group?

I would have given the Nobel peace prize to Martti Ahtisaari, but then again, I can't say I'm not at least slightly biased because he is a Finn..

Not every 5 years, every 10 years that end in 5, 1975, 1985, 1995, 2005, etc.

Duh, El Baradei is obviously incompetent, he couldn't even find the active Iraqi nuclear program. It's not like his work has been of any use in stopping nuclear proliferation at all either. The Nobel committee sure is a bunch of dimwits.

We obviously know he's done such a great job in Iran, Pakistan, India, and North Korea, as well as helping secure China's stockpiles.

Since when is peace preventing nations our government doesn't like from having nukes?

keep in mind that the above listed governments are still, potentially, considered serious opponents to our national security. granted, I personally don't believe it is very likely that china will launch a nuclear missile or that Iran will invade Florida, but it is nonetheless a possibility for the simple matter that they still harbor hatred for us and have claimed themselves as rivals in the past.

btw why is this douchebag a UN weapons' inspector? and furthermore why would anyone give the award to a person who is, for all intents and purposes, a government employee? does that not reek of some sort of corruption?
