To give the only serious answer: Firearms clanning will die shortly after this season of FAL, while the rest of the community will shortly dwindle to nothing soon after. It's sad really, but the truth. :/

Does it die when it started to decline from its heyday? It's been dead for years, then.
Does it die when official support ended? It's been a few months.
Does it die when league play ends forever? Probably won't be long.

Does it die when someone turns off the FA forums? Well, since we're currently reading an FA forum, I guess it's not dead.

^^ My definition of dead. I don't know why peopel are shitting themselves over this. By the time the regulars now get bored of this game new people will be starting it. It'll last a much longer time than people seem to think.

TFC is just a genius piece of harddrive space for competitive play. Tons of leagues are around for playing it, and the servers the clans own have to do SOMETHING during downtime, so there also happens to be a lot of places to pub in. Make a server, and they will come.

Not so with FA :/

Exactly there is no true way to define if and when FA will die, it all depends on yourself, if you don't play FA anymore then it's dead to you. If you still play FA then it's still alive. As long as there is a server out there FA will still be around one way or another.

FA will live as long as people still run servers, players still have the game, and clans and leagues still exist. The sooner you people take down your servers, and stop playing, the sooner it dies.
However, the turning off of the last FA server should be a huge event, signified with with loads of symbolism and emotion and shit, just to show how awesome the game was.

Between the weird gameplay changes in 3.0 and the community ducking out, I'd agree that F.A.'s lifespan will continue for about 6 months or so. The coding bias simply changed from a game where you choose how to play, to a game where how you play is chosen for you ahead of time. The small amount of realism there is gone, and the gameplay is toast. Pull the feeding tube...let it go peacefully:D
