Hey guys, I was wondering if any of you knew how to get microsoft office to work with the chinese language pack for my chinese class? I saw someone the other day had a plugin / option enabled for office that would allow them to type in pinyin (latinized chinese) and have it converted into simplified chinese characters automatically. Does anyone know how I can get this to work with office?

I'm not sure, I think you'll need a specialised keyboard but MS Office works off of the locale you have installed and active on your PC.

Control Panel - Regional and Language Options. From here you can change your entire PC to Chinese settings. If you then go to the Language tab and select Details Windows will take you into Text Services and Input Languages. Here you can define how you input different languages. You'll likely need to select the checkboxes to install the language files for East Asian and complex scripts.

Make sure you select English as your default :D . You should now have a little icon in the taskbar that will let you switch from one locale to another on the fly.

It's extremely odd to see someone switch from English to Hebrew and all the text on the screen suddently start reading from right to left.
