I'm going to sell my computer, but I don't want to go through the bs of formatting my hard drive and everything because backuping is utter balls.

My question is, is it possible to take this hdd out of this tower, and put it in another one? Or will the processor drivers on it fuck it all up?

You can replace the HDD, no biggie. Just make sure to indicate that there is no OS installed.

...He means make sure the buyer knows there is no OS installed and will need to do it on his or her own.

No no no, that's not the question I'm asking.

I'm asking if you can put a non-formatted drive into a whole new PC

Take the old one out, put the new one. The buyer will have to worry about installing the software. The HDD is just for holding the software.

You'd probably have to reinstall most of the drivers, but otherwise, you should be fine. XP is good like that.

So if I take the one that's in my current tower, and place it into another one that has completely different specs, it'll be fine?

Yes. Formatting can be done later using a boot disk.

As long as you don't do something like putting a HDD that's SATA in a computer with a motherboard that only supports IDE, shouldn't be a problem (SATA/IDE refer to the cables, you won't get them confused).

Awesome that will save me alot of time and effort.

No...but it's something to consider so your customer doesn't feel ripped off.
