Okay, when I put it in for the first time, the DVD drive warms/revs up no problem. If I leave it in long enough for it to 'cool down', and then try to do something that requires a checking of the drive (Ie, open up media player, my computer, or try to play Far cry) then it simply doesn't start revving up.
And idea why?
EDIT: Just to clarify, this is the ONLY cd I get this problem with.

My best bet is that your drive doesn't like the copy protection method. Certain optical drives are incompatible with various copy protection schemes; although that is a rare scenario. My old TEAC 48x CD-RW wouldn't work with AoE2, for that exact reason. I duplicated the CD using a drive that did work, and used a no-CD fix; that's how I found out the copy-protection was at fault.
It's either that or a dud CD; unless it just started doing this. If it just started doing this recently, get a new DVD drive. It's probably just worn out, they're not designed to last.
