NOT the x1300. Bought it for 125$...worst computer-related mistake of my life.

That's what I got (X800XL, not Sapphire, ew). It was on sale direct from ATI. I think it was under $180

I think you can mail your old ATI cards to ATI for recycling and get like a $50 discount too, if you buy direct from them :o

My old card is an X800XL. Was a very good card (in my brothers computer now.
Why ATI? I went back to nvidia when I got my 7950.

If you're going to buy that generation of cards (X8xx or 68xx series) you should go the Nvidia route to get ShaderModel 3.0 support.

You can get a 6800GT/Ultra for around $175 if you look hard enough.

Oh yeah, I totally forgot about the 68XX cards...best bang for the buck, by far.

If you can score yourself a 6800 vanilla card (should be below or around $150 these days) you can possibly unlock pipelines and a shader to make it an unglorified 6800GT. I had one of those for a year and it was an excellent card.
whuh?

he might as well go to the leadtek 7600gt while hes at it. Its cooler already is quiet, it performs better than the 7800gs in some tests, Ive heard good reviews all around about it. he could get custom drivers from tweaksrus (http://tweaksrus.com/). Its where I go.
Apparently the 7600gs from evga is having huge driver issues.
But the best price is the x800 if you really want to stick with ati. I go with the brand thats the best at the time for what I want.

WTF? There's nothing wrong with Sapphire cards.
