When 0.5 comes out, you can count me in for downloading and playing. I've still got 0.46 or something sitting on my HD and haven't installed it yet.

Same here. Took the day to download the huge installer and never actually installed it :( I used to love th game in it's early days before the brits. Sometimes got a bit tedious though.

I downloaded it and was like "hey let's play" and nobody wanted to so I got rid of it and then I was like "wow having this extra 3gb of space sure does rock"

yeah, more than 8 people play it. What's happening in the patch? I like the game, but It gets very tiresome of getting shot by some fucker proning in the bushes the entire time.

Do I need the 1.41 BF2 patch to install this?

Or is there a newer patch?

If I download a 500mb patch it better damn be the good one in the first place.

v0.6 was released recently, anyone still play? The new insurgency game mod is awesome, I've stopped play HL2 Insurgency because of it.

-Insurgent Civilian Kit
Another new feature for the Insurgent faction is the 'Civilian Kit'. Players who spawn as an Insurgent Civilian are not allowed to be armed with anything more than just a handful of rocks that they can throw at enemy troops. This kit might not seem very useful at first, but there is a twist: Civilians are not allowed to be shot and killed in battle. If you open fire and kill a Civilian, you and your team will receive a multitude of penalties. The other team can however simulate an 'arrest' of Civilians by knifing them. The civilian class is used for scouting, trying to lead the enemy into hidden IED’s, helping Western Forces and more.

Oh wow, Win.

it looks like bf2 with new skins, plus im really sketchy about downloading this considering the battlefield series is so hard to mod.

Captain Colon

it's like bf2 with way better bullet physics and you never get to play anything but the rifleman class

Also, I've yet to be on a server playing maps that actually has the jets on it.

I haven't installed yet, but from what I remember of 0.5 anything that flew scared the hell out of me. I played the Iraq maps the most, and this one map in particular made me fear US air power whenever I was playing insurgent. I remember being conditioned at one point to dive for cover and not move for a good 20 seconds whenever I heard the whine of an A-10 engine, or the rotor noise of an incoming Supercobra.

That was the Al Basrah map, my favorite. In v.6 it is now a British vs Insurgent map, so no more A-10. Although I only really play it in the insurgent mod though, sp the regular AAS version may still have A-10s.
