that's easy...keep your trap shut, you're being catty and just looking to make your work enviroment stressed by "keeping it real"...

If directly asked about her performance say something true e.g I really admired her energy... or something like that.

I say do it like how they portray Saddam in episodes of South Park....
"Hey guy... your girlfriend's singing sounds like she's experiencing rough sex.... in the butt"
But leave that for when you already have a new job lined up.

Mmmmm, he probably knows that she's not the greatest, and wants you to be honest but kind, so go with that route. :)

Yea, if he asks, and only if he asks, say.. honestly, she could use some improvement, but the band was really good... or something, end with something positive when saying a negative.

how do i told boss???
Seriously though, considering your boss has heard her sing as well, he'll have the same opinion of her, but he just doesn't want to say anything.

I thought the band was pretty good, you're skills with guitar/drum/whatever are better than I thought you'd be. I really had a good time.
If he asks what you thought of his woman just say that you thought she fit the band perfectly.
