Pretty much everything in the US that starts with "war on" is sad :(

The cover story in time recently was actually about an Afghan chief (or some bigwig) that helped out the US a TON with info, and now he's in jail because he ran an opium farm.

Reminds me of something -- how come DEA agents look like sleazebags?

And I'm not just saying that because I'm a fan of The Professional, either :o.

They don't have uniforms like cops.
They don't look professional like the FBI.
I mean, they're not all undercover all the freaking time, but it looks like even their desk guys are shabby as hell.

Do we KNOW what they do to "evidence" after trial is over?

Wow, the most cops here will do for possession is take your pot and...not smoke it themselves.

Yeah I don't know how they typically treat it, but that's what the law allows for which is insane. The insanity is only matched by how they treat driving and weed and taxing weed.

It was kinda shameful lastyear, there were a bunch of 14 year olds stoned as fuck stumbling around ranting about being "medicinal users" and trying to make lame jokes. Plus every jackass in the city turned out in full jackass regalia.

Exactly why it's a stupid idea.

Legalization of pot will not be done with dumbasses running through the streets fucking shit up. We need a clear, concise argument to win over the paranoid masses.

Yep, I hate how all the speakers they get to advocate legalized marijuana, are stoned as fuck when they give their speech. You don't protest prohibition by getting wrecked and making an ass of yourself in front of city hall. I wish they could handle this in a dignified and mature manor, but I don't see that happening. I also wish people would stop fucking showing up to these dressed like a butterfly or a giant pot leaf and that they would keep little kids away from these. I saw almost the entire 9th grade class of my school there lastyear, and some bitch with a baby in a stroller and a giant fucking bong. If you folks want marijuana to be legal, quit acting like such goddamn retards for fuck sakes.

My town needs one of those..

This one kid in my school is convinced, because of our health ed. classes last year, that trying weed will make him want to try coke and heroin

I think most of you are aware of my complete disgust toward The War On Some Drugs, and how it was a major factor in my not heading into a law enforcement career after qualifying for such.

But a few years ago I saw a video from some pro-legalization rally showing some goofy bitch with purple hair, several pounds of metal stuck in her skin, and ugly damn tattoos everwhere...toking on a joint, blowing smoke toward the camera, then shooting it the finger.

What the hell rational person could accept such a spokesperson's stance toward legalization? This stupid bitch didn't realize just how many fence-sitters that kind of stupid-ass act turns away from them, and should have been kept off-camera.

so wait. rephrase that. you dont mind certain drugs, goat? :o? or did i misinterpret what you said? :o

It would be awesome if they'd legalize the usage of weed for people in the UK, but only on private property. And, if you are caught dealing or smoking out outside of your own land, you should get the full force of the law on your ass. Also, they should allow people to register themselves for a permit to grow like 2 of thier own plants, not for sale, but for personal usage. I dont want it to become massive like Am-dam with cafes and shit, but it would be cool to walk into a shop and buy pre-rolled doobie.

I am fervently against any and all legislation banning adults from ingesting whateverthehell drugs with which they choose to amuse themselves in the privacy of their homes. Period. Wanna smoke weed until your ears melt? Fine with me. Wanna ride a needle to your own personal heroin hell in your home? Not my business.

I also don't think that it's worth the resources and officers risking their lives to keep drugs out of the hands of people who will find a way to get them anyway. It basically ensures a comfortable living for successful drug dealers.

All I know is that medicinal research SHOULD be legal. After I heard from more than one source that people who use marijuana before and after chemotherapy feel little to no nausea or side affects of the radiation I was sold. After watching two family members die from cancers and having a history of it on both sides of my family, anything you can do to ease the suffering of cancer patients should be done.

I used to work for someone who is disabled because of multiple sclerosis. Cannabis is the ONLY available treatment which can relieve her symptoms and it is far safer than the medical alternatives which are very expensive and are often steroid-based. I've seen her in a state where she cannot control her limbs, vocal chords or eye muscles - what in less enlightened times would be called a 'basket case' - literally 30 seconds after a puff on a joint she's able to drive her own wheelchair, surf the net and chat intelligently with her friends, with the same mobility as someone with broken legs. It's a stunning transformation.

GC is entirely correct. The police have enough to do with the greedy and the mean, they don't need the hassle of the sick and crazy people too. It's not a criminal issue but a medical and social one.

Almost all of the secondary crime due to drugs is because of the high cost and because it is illegal. The true cost of heroin is very low - on the order of pennies per dose. Cannabis is easier than broccoli to cultivate and should therefore cost less.

If an addict could be sure of a cheap supply of unadulterated drugs and had no fear of legal penalty, then okay some would go nuts and die within the year, but the vast majority would lead law abiding and constructive lives. Unscrupulous dealers and pimps would not be able to enslave addicts.

One side effect of legalisation of weed would be to force many students to get jobs.

But offer drugs to a child and you should get life or exile.

Thats what i mean. Weed should become like tobacco in regards to people using it. If you are 18 or over, you should be allowed to purchase cannabis for your personal usage on private property. There is far too much police work going into the drug trade to stop it. I suggest they seperate the okay from the bad and allow people to use them respectively. Hell, if they had to make it a government run thing, they could even use the extra cash to pay for more police officers to combat the banned drugs.

Everyone would be happy, people with painful disease can relax easily, stoners would be happy, people who smoke occasionally for social purposes would be happy, the police force would have more time on their hands for more pressing issues. It would put the drug dealers who sell weed out of business, and if the sale of weed was handled by the government, they could make money out of it for the government budget, to pay for more important things.

too bad our government is full of poncy idiots who just feel because its associated with the bad side of things and its negative effects on certain people, it should be banned. its bullshit. :(
