Silverfall? Only english demo out now I think, but its a fairly neat little cel shadded-style rpg hack-n-slash. There's a bit of steampunk to it as well.

I just started playing a free MMO yesterday called 9dragons, I'll have a thread made on it shortly. Its asian themed(ancient china) and runs off a modified l2 engine. Its being done by north american developers I think, or they have the best localization team in the history of the world.

I'm gonna be trying out this 9dragons shit that dunna posted once it's done updating, I'll let you know :o

It's way better than some other game I can't remember the name of where the base version needed about 500mb in patches just to be playable,

I hear it told that final fagesy 7 is on the underdogs. Not DnD sans nerds, plenty of cliche over done story twists, and of course more pent up sexual tension than the average bi-sexual high school group.

Yeah. But Only if talk about a their bugs rush:) (like many other games, NWN2, 4 example). After adding some patches - IMHO G3 works good. However I still don't have time to finish it fully.

Newest? Afterlight? IMHO 6 or 7 from 10. finally working X-com, but without any part of soul, like older X-com's got.

You should try Silent Storm its sorta of a mix between rpg/turnbase WW2 game but with a scifi twist. It came out like two years ago but its still good. I think you can still get the demo off theri main site.

I was enjoying the infantry combat where I had to take terrain and things like that into consideration and then out of nowhere everything got messed up by the bullshit mechs. :gun:

Go download system shock 2...if you can get it running you will be all "oh man I forgot how awesome this game was" unless you haven't played it before, then you'll be like "wow i really suck for not having played this game sooner" d:D

I think I will go play it some more :cool:

I agree that Afterlight got tiresome. Complaints kept in spoiler to keep the thread tidy. You need a break from all those missions after a while and the difficulty setting is frustrating. Not because it's hard, but because it's either hard OR easy. Small maps and little training of the player to use stealth and alternative routes (e.g. blow up a wall) drags the game down. It's somewhat rushed and there are no way to select the men and have them use formations automatically.

But it has one thing for it. The ragdoll effects makes things more cheerfull. When you get to machineguns and launchers, you know you are having fun for a while when you go "WHOOOHOOO!!"

Oh God, I hated the mutants in Far Cry. I was having fun sneaking around the jungle popping random mercenaries in the head until they pulled that bullshit. "OH NOES TEN FOOT TALL MUTANTS WITH ROCKET LAUNCHERS IN THEIR ARMS!!!" The indoor sequences where the game basically became watered-down Doom 3 because of those lumpy melee mutants were crap too.
