Well, i was thinking about it. How much work would it take to rebuild SS2 on say the source engine? what sort of people would we need, what sort of engine would we use, is it do-able, is it worth the time, is it a good idea?
I was thinking it would be cool if there was a System Shock: Source mod which recreated the SS2 game on the source engine, but also incorporated game modes such as co-op, team deathmatch, clear the area (marines vs mutants, mutants defend, marines attack) and so on.
this was inspired by comment's thread on the SS2 2k7 mods.

probably the same amount of people working on WaW, dedicated, and it would still probably take a year or two

Wow maybe it should've been inspired by my thread where I said SS2 should be remade on a new engine, ASSHOLE
The hardest part would probably be coding in all the RPG elements, but it's been done in other mods before. It'd take WAY more work than any multiplayer mod, if only because you'd need like 20 voice actors for all the audio logs.

Not really. You can extract all of SS2's sounds, so the audiologs would be of very little hassle.

Yeah but that's also totally illegal and you'd never be able to release the mod that way.
