Here (http://my.break.com/media/view.aspx?ContentID=268502)

I usually don't agree with O'Reilly, but in this case, I do.

Discuss.

If I was in the general area and saw one of those protests, I'd go into my local hardware store, buy a chain saw and go to fucking town.

It would be irresponsible of me to advise people to cover their faces and licence plates before they attacked a picket.

No jury would convict anyway.

I'm not sure about this one...
It is a protest, albeit a stupid protest. You have the right to make an idiot out of yourself. Don't take this to mean that I like what Westboro does...but they are protected by the first amendment. After seeing the shit that the Phelps family tried to do with Matthew Shepard's grave...I must admit that I wouldn't feel the least bit sorry if they were killed in a convenient freak accident(if they were murdered, I would feel bad for the murderer.)

I was amused by the comment the guy made about the "no-spin zone," heh. I want to go there and get a protest together holding signs saying "God hates fundamentalist idiots."

I hope that if this sort of shit ever happened here, someone would call the police, they would come and the Westboros would be rounded up and sent to psychiatric care.

"And why would you want me to remove this person's right to make his own decisions?"
"Your honour, he was part of a group that shouted "God hates faggots!" during a funeral for a young soldier and brought posters and a jingle song."
[Pause]
"Point taken."

How does one "protest" a FUNERAL?

Funerals are not public forums, nor politically inclined, so how can you say this shit is legitimate "protesting"?

I agree with O'Reilly on this one, protest all you want, but a disruption of a funeral is not a protest. It's... a disruption of a FUNERAL. And they should get their asses beat for it accordingly.

I would be inclined to agree if they were actually shouting. Technically...you can't really be disturbing the peace by holding signs. Also, GC has pointed out that this stuff is mostly a fundraiser. They wait for someone to beat up one of their members and then start with the lawsuits. It's an ingenius strategy because there's no way that most people could be within 50 feet of them and not want to slit their throats.

It's wrong, sure, but they have the right to do it...at least here.

I'm not saying they don't have the right, but they shouldn't...

I hope you don't think I'm disagreeing with you here. People have the right to do a whole lot of things that they shouldn't do.

Shotguns all around. We're defending the nation by removing filthy waste. Shit, that doesn't hold up in court :\
