I think i'm having an existential meltdown.

ok it all starts about one year ago

i meet an amazing girl, i don't know what it is about her but she's amazing

pass about couple months, she's my date to homecoming but by this time i start to think she just has a bunch of boy toys etc. and that i'm one of them

fast forward to prom, she starts asking me if i have a date ( i do, extra hot German exchange student :D ) and then after that we start hanging out and most observers would think we'd be a couple

i think the reason i like her is because she, unlike many other women ( girls? ) i know , she is very assertive, if i bring something up she defends her point instead of submitting.

i think she represents a challenge instead of a simple Fall Gelb situation for me. and i still don't know.

and there's my melt down, i don't really know about anything anymore, this woman has upset my entire life, and now i'm not really sure about anything except that i'm very sure that i'm extremely well enamored of her.

basically the sitaution is this, all i need to do is simply ask her, but it's always easier said than done, and this will simply motivate me to do so.

I don't get what you are saying. Are you saying she only acts like she wants you when you start to get attached to someone else (hot foreign girl) and otherwise she puts you on the back burner? Or are you saying that you've fallen for someone out of your league? Or are you saying that you don't know if you want to be in a relationship w/ this girl (ie you think she will hurt you.)?
