View Full Version : I guess its just me

But the certain avatars and signatures that were "recently" allowed are getting a little annoying. Its getting to the point where I can't browse the forum like I used to if my friends are in the room, which is fairly frequent. If there is something interesting I want them to see, I have to screen the thread first to make sure its not there.
I guess suggestions are going to be "lol use firefox and get the extention that allows you to block the pictures" or "lol turn off avatars and signatures", but I use Opera, and the way I usually associate people is by their avatars or signatures.
I'm tempted just to stop browsing here, but I DO like the community for the most part, and it would be hard to just leave. Why was this allowed in the first place? Why does everyone here have the urge to draw a penis... I just don't understand.
-edit- Also, if you ask why I didn't bring this up earlier, I thought it'd be a short phase that would last a total of a week tops. Its just getting annoying.

I do turn off avatars/signatures. especially for while browsing at school. I know that it's not an option for you, but it has worked fine for me.

There must be an imageblocker for Opera somewhere?

I'm personally somewhat annoyed by the drawn penii in peoples' sigs and avatars. I don't mind seeing one in a random image here or there, but when I have to see it every time someone posts, it just stops being funny.

I assumed drawn penises were going to be allowed for specific NSFW threads, and not necessarily avatars and sigs. I don't like them but I didn't complain because I thought I'd be the only one. Not for the same reason as you though -- I only don't like them because I think anyone who has them is trying too hard.

I'm glad I'm not the only one. It was funny once, maybe twice, but seeing it every day multiple times a day gets fucking old.
My progression: :kak: -> -> -> :gun: -> :ninja:

We knew this was going to be a problem eventually, just wanted you all to come out and say it. :)
If you guys want I can change the rules so that they are not allowed in sigs and avatars. This would help my comfort level of browsing as well.

How about if you want to put a drawn penis in a post, you have to spoiler it with a warning? Then you could browse at work and not have to worry about one of them surprising a coworker who happens to walk by.

LoL! No no...
Ok, going to add it to the rules, no more penis drawlings in avatars or sigs.

Use the Show Pictures toggle, and learn to associate people with their handles...for six years I've used Opera as well as having signatures and avatars turned off, and I have no problems with keeping track.

I view the forum at work due to downtime... while the penises didn't stop me, I didn't like them in sigs and avatars anyway.

They aren't worth adding until they've been Afro Joe-ized. That's the final answer.

Well, they WERE allowed, but not anymore. :)
But they can still be in posts.... and also not the real thing, just silly mspaint ones.

That's about as close to gay porn as you'll ever get from an emoticon.
