One of the guys from my unit, John Crawford, was on the daily Show the other night, for his book "The Last True Story I'll Ever Tell"....

Did anyone see the show? Is there a clip of it online or something? I ask cause I didn't actually see the TV spot, one of my buddies in 91W school called me up and told me about it.

It sounds like something to read. On the Daily Show, Crawford said that he wrote the stuff during and a couple of months after his tour. There is mention of how all the stuff isn't completely processed, so it's in the raw and makes it more interesting.

Which one? The one where 1st AD (2-3 FA) shot at our sniper team? Or the one where the two 1st AD units from 1-36 IN (M) shot at each other for like an hour?
Regardless, it may have that specific in there. I definately remember seeing complaints about 1st AD in there in general, as well as the ADA people nearly shooting us. Then again, he may have edited since I read what he had written in Iraq.

Swat, question: his NPR interview was on the other night, and the announcer's introduction included a statement that the 3rd ID was promised a deployment of no more than three months' duration OCONUS. True or false?

True. They had an entire brigade on planes on the runway at BIAP and they pulled everyone off.

Finished reading it.
I'm mentioned a couple times as "one soldier".
I got confused a couple times because half the names were changed, guess so as to not have to get permission from soldiers being viewed in a negative light. It's mostly just the rangers, and the people involved in the theft incident, but even still.
