I had to decide on whether or not to get WotLK tomorrow, or visit my girlfriend for an extra 2 days for Christmas - so I'll be getting it sometime after Christmas, when most of my guildmates are leveling their 2nd / 3rd 80 toons and i can just bum off their knowledge instead of learning it myself.

If Guild Wars taught me anything is that people hate cut scenes in mmo's. It'll be the first time I get to see it but everyone else has seen it 10 times over cause they're on their millionth character, and they want to skip it then bitch and me for not skipping.

Played beta, really tempted, on the fence right now. On one hand I was really excited over the visual look of the game, which almost sold me right there, but there's also the fact that uh...I actually have spare time right now.

I think I'm going to sit on it and think about it for a week. Next week is when I'll have all my spare time anyways. Also didn't help that while I was taking a break till WotLK, my guild decided to up and fall apart on me. First guild I had ever been in with both competent players (pre-nerf BT quality) AND nice people, at the same time.

Gotta agree with Moe, of all my shitty habits the one I've been successfully able to kick was WoW. Going on a year since the last time I played it and I have no desire to break that streak.

No matter what WoW will always become the same thing: piss-poor PVP, boring dungeon encounters, and pointless grinding. If you're going to spend hours doing the same shit over and over again, spend it studying or doing something constructive, not partaking in the mental masturbation that is WoW.

i got it. i'm hoping installing it will fix my bsod issue that i've had with wow since i reformatted in august (vanilla wow would load and want to update, when i instaleld BC it bsoded on me when i tried to scroll through the user agreement) so i've not been on since late august. i was beta testing it as well and i had fun on my death knight.

The problem right now is that some of the classes are unbalanced and prefer to only play certain maps. Coupled with what appears to be an issue with the scenario starts has people only playing the same scenarios over and over again. On top of that, but open rvr overall generates less renown per time put it in meaning that not very many people do it.

Now people are leaving, some waiting for December for the new classes to be brought in. Because of that, not many people are on at most times meaning the rvr slows right down.

Unfortunately Mythic can't seem to realize that it would be in their best interests to combine almost all their servers in a few to get the numbers up. When there are a lot of people, rvr is great, but when they're nobody out there, it's boring as shit.

QFT. Open RvR was dead almost 24/7 on my server. I got tired of running scenarios and farming PQs over and over, so I'm done.

I'm debating giving it a try. They really didn't improve the grind that much in Burning Crusade. If this is pretty much more of the same, I'm washing my hands of it. I do enjoy it when I'm not spending a half hour for people to show up for a stupid raid. I only have some much time to play.

WoW has its fun moments, but it can get old quick. I like the social aspect because single player games bore the hell out of me. At the same time I get tired of the whiny 13 year old kids.

If you're talking about 10-20, go to the Ghostlands, which was added in the Burning Crusade.

You can also go to the new quest hub in Dustwallow Marsh for mid to late 30s. That was added maybe a year ago.

they've made the grind a lot better in recent history (i believe it was patch 2.3 or so). supposedly WotLK makes 60-70 a lot easier as well

Back during the election during my brief WoW stint I always would type in all caps GO MCCAIN/OBAMA depending on a coin flip. It always got results either way.
