Yea.
Besides, I think a GL like the one depicted would be better for the demo.
If I were in charge of the soldier's unlocks...
1: A new rocket launcher that has less damage (say, 25% less) but is loaded via a magazine of 10 shots. The rockets fired are smaller, but fly a bit faster.
Pros: Faster rockets, more shots, quicker reload.
Cons: Smaller rocket jump, less damage.
Designed for the soldier who prefers longer range attacking, and to better kill scouts.
2: M14: A semi auto rifle (duh) that can also be used at longer range. Less damage than a point-blank shotgun blast, and like the pistol the shots may stray off the exact center of the crosshair, but will be off by a much lesser degree.
Pros: Better range, more shots than a shotgun.
Cons: Less damage makes soldier more vulnerable in close combat, not accurate enough to "counter snipe" a sniper.
3: Improvised club: Inspired by something I saw that a soldier made for attacks in trenches in WWI. It was a chair leg, about 1.5 feet long, the end wrapped in barbed wire.
Pro: better damage than the shovel
Con: No criticles
My main gripe with the soldier has to be a limit to ranged attacks. The rocket launcher shoots rockets too slow for sniper harassment, and for killing scouts at anything but close combat. Right now, the only good use of a soldier at long range is killing an unguarded sentry in the open. Some longer ranged weapons would do good for the soldier IMO. The rockets of the new RL would still be useful closer, IMO, because the need to reload would be reduced, and it would still have the same blast radius, just less damage.
