Sometimes the GIF files in peoples' sigs get super-choppy and slow down my explorer whenever they're in the window (ie it stops being choppy once I scroll the GIF off of the screen). I've been having this problem on and off for a while. I'm quite definite that this isn't a hardware or a virus problem, and I've completely updated all my software and Windows. It might be a spyware problem (I haven't scanned in a while), or maybe a program conflict. Either way, it's starting to get annoying, so I've finally decided to ask for help.

I think it's just an IE problem, have you tried using a different browser?

Actually I haven't, I'll update Firefox (haven't used it for the last 3-4 months) and get back to you.

-e- Okay, updated FF, the GIFs work fine in it, so I've localized the problem to IE.

Okay, strange, I just cleared out the temp net files, reset the history, and tweaked a few settings, and now the problem's gone. It'll probably come up again later, but for now it's gone.

IE and gifs are fucked. Has been like this for YEARS.

I have no idea what is causing it , and tbh I don't think anybody does. It just happens in IE.
