Hockey thread!
So we're heading down the stretch and with the trade deadline coming and going, how's everyone feeling with their teams?
The Pens signing Kunitz a little before the deadline has been proving to be a great sign, he's been putting up a lot of points and really helping the team. Still too early to see how the guys we picked up with the deadline will be. Got a nice winning streak going, and if the season ended today we'd be in the playoffs so things are definitely looking a lot better than they were a few weeks ago :lincoln:

I don't understand the flyers trading Upshall for Carcillo, who apparently takes a lot of penalties,... something the flyers are trying to cut down on. And it wasn't JUST for Carcillo, they gave up their #2 pick in 2011... Carcillo isn't worth that, it should have been a straight up trade.
If they were trying to clear cap space they should have traded Lupal who's cap will go from like 2.5 mil to 4.5mil next season. D:
Anyway... it will be interesting to watch what happens, the standings are so close.

the leafs need to start losing. we've done everything to get a better draft pick but it isn't helping us get out of mediocrity, which seems to be the trend of the past 5 years or so

Awesome until they won. :(
But, yea, they needed some defense.

Interesting thing happened during the Pens game on Sunday (Pens vs Bruins)
Apparently Crosby and Savard were talking trash to each other for a while. Well FSN had a guy between the benches and he reported that Crosby and Savard challenged each other to a fight, that the "table has been set". Nothing happened. Oh wait something did, something not a whole lot of people picked up on. According to some reports from the radio, Savard said he'd fight Crosby if he took his visor off. So Crosby went to the bench, had his visor removed, and played a chunk of the remainder of the first period without it looking for Savard. And Savard still backed out. There are some pictures floating around, kinda weird to see him without a visor.

Anywho if this is the beginning of a trend then looks like Crosby is trying to add some toughness to his image, and I'm all for that.
-e- btw im going to have fun renaming this thread the rest of the season :lincoln:

If he would stop whining and crying to the refs constantly, that would improve his image. He doesn't need to fight, nor should he be fighting. He isn't an enforcer.
But, I caulk that up to being young. Once he matures, he is going to be amazing.

Yea, that was cool. But the over-coverage was annoying. They skipped 4 min of the flyers wings game for that bullshit.
