Hey guys,

I've invited some of my friends from another forum (Smelly Cat) to come EVE with us. They all play DR with me, and they're all legit; but most of them haven't EVE'd before so they're learning the ropes. So be on the lookout for an influx of 4 or 5 newbs coming in.

they're going to hang out in Hek for a while until they learn the ropes, so they don't get fucked by a WT.

-e- So add them to your address book, and if you see them, feel free to gang up with them and show them round.

I'm one of these so-called Smelly-Cat noobs, by the name of another unofficial forum from another game most of us play called Dragonrealms.

I've played most of the MMO's on the market today, raided WoW including clearing sunwell in 2.x and Sarth3D in 3.x, played Asheron's Call 2 very heavily back in its heyday, play Dragonrealms, which many of us continue to play (ie. have running in the background while we play eve) today.

Thanks for having us, and hopefully, we'll, eventually, make a valuable contribution to your corporation.

So far, the S-C people I know are:

Guaranzo
ZanderTirade
Vythe Haakonnen (or something like that, search for vythe and it's the one with a last name)

There's a few other people too, but I don't know their names in Eve as yet.

Excellent. We'll do the best we can to get you situated in Eve. I'm sure you've heard the horror stories. Our litmus test is about a month or two. If you are still playing after that, you'll probably be sticking around.

Right off the bat we can't take you in to the actual Corp yet, for various reasons, but we'll for sure help you guys out. Feel free to join the ingame channel "The Rehab Clinic", it's the Corps public channel, if you need to talk to us ingame.

Also, pay no attention to Tori and/or Scipio. They are noobs, and terrible people.

I'm sure Swat will hook you up with mack "Jack Contrax", who is our newest guy, and he'll be invaluable to you guys, cause he just recently got past the hardest part of the game (the start of it, naturally) and can help you guys along nicely. He is Killerfluffy here on the forums.

Put all your skill points into intelligence and memory. Train your learning skills, basic and advanced to IV. Train the following skills, Science to III cybernetics to I. Install +3 intelligence and memory implants. Train the following to V: Engineering, Electronics, Mechanic and Science. Train the following to IV: Energy Grid Upgrades, Energy Managment, Energy System Operations, Hull Upgrades, Repair Systems, Astrometrics, Astrometic Triangulation and Cybernetics. Train Infomorph Pyschology to II. Yell at Druz or Battlewhack until they get someone online to make you a jumpclone.

Now, remap all your skill points into Perception and Willpower. Put +5 implants into one of your jumpclones do not get this clone killed. Train ship skills, weapon skills and navigation skills for a year, PVP and kill shit on your character that doesn't have 500,000,000 isk worth of implants in its gord.

I have no idea if this is good advice or not.

The reason I say this is because you get a 100% bonus to learning up to 1.6m skill points. Getting core skills like engineering, electronics, science, mechanics to V early on will get lots of cool ships available to you sooner.

Also, you should all play as Gallente and drive blaster boats or Amarr and drive laser boats.

Here it is in lovely Eve-mon format. According to Eve-mon this will take 40 days. But that doesn't take into account the 100% bonus you get to the first 1.6m skill points.

Welcome to the grind. This isn't necessarily a fun skill plan, but unless I'm mistaken, this will open more doors for you fairly quickly.

Skill plan for Sharon Val

March 20th, 2009, 11:08 AM
Hello all. I'm yet another of the SC noobs, playing a character named ZanderTirade. So far I'm digging this game a lot. I'm playing as a Caldari and have more or less done a whole lot of nothing but mining over the 4 days or so I've been playing. Going out of town for the weekend, but when I get back I should have Mining V done and I can't wait!

Thanks for the advice, killerfluffy! Once I get a chance I'll start focusing in that direction.

Thanks for having us, gang, I'm looking forward to getting a better grip on how to play this game.

Also don't feel the need to slavishly adhere to that skill plan. It's the fast track, but you might get sick of frigates after a while.

I was hoping you'd say that kinda/sorta. I've been trying to be good about keeping my learning skills moving (other than charisma) but I want to get my cruiser to at least 2 (for vexor, thorax feels too expensive) and medium hybrid turrets to screw around place a bit before pushing the remainder of my points entirely into learning. I figure that'll put me at 250 or 300k skillpoints, leaving me 1.3ish mill or so to throw at the learning skills and engineering type stuff.

Maybe not ideal, but workable?

Eh.

If you want sure, but when you want to fly cov-ops, assault ships, interdictors, interceptors or any tech 2 ships, you're going to need those core skills to V.

For you new guys, regarding the hidden alliance forums on this site, I cannot grant you access until you are physically in the in-game alliance, and when you join that is up to our CEO's of the various Corporations.

Fair enough, the message at the top of the forum was somewhat confusing with regard to whether it was the application to join the alliance or join the hidden alliance forums on the site.

Thanks for the clarification on the process, though. No hurry, I've already received more help and guidance from DruzidelCastro, Pulsar Solarix, and Jack Contrax than I could ever expect, whether inside or outside the alliance proper.

Aye, cheers :) I'm sure you guys will make a good addition in a short time, once you get your feet wet.

My old mantra for newish players was that you are a noob until you get your first solo pvp kill. Popping the pvp cherry makes things a lot better :p

If I am online while you are one of two things is guaranteed to happen:

A) All enemies within a 40 jump radius will dock and log off ensuring you get no fights

or

B) You will have "The best fight ever in EVE" and I will miss it by one jump and die on my way back to where I came from.
