Sure we've got OTF Games but let's consolidate everything for the sake of simplicity.
I'm an annual NCAA Football and Football Manager buyer and I've played the majority of racers on the 360. I just picked up NBA Street Homecourt since its so damn cheap but I'm really looking forward to some upcoming titles.
What franchises do you buy every year? Which games do you think most accurately portray the sport? How would you change a game and where do you stand on the sim/arcade issue?
I know personally I'm extremely excited for Fight Night Round 4. Never a big boxing fan but Round 3 was great and some of the career features they've discussed sound interesting. Now let's see if this topic can take off.

I always get each iteration of Football Manager and PES. Fight Night Round 3 is one of my favourite games of all time (despite the utterly apalling "career mode") so I'm really looking forward to Round 4 too. I think UFC Undisputed also has a chance to not suck balls.

Undisputed looks great but I'm not a UFC fan so I won't be picking it up unless it gets some glowing reviews. Will be interesting to see how such a multifaceted sport translates to the controller.

My main worry is that it's "WWE with facial injuries".

Yea its definitely a concern with THQ's history but it really looks like they are trying to get this franchise off the ground.
In other news, I'm very impressed by the transparency of EA's sports division. Community days are now earlier, allowing development teams to alter the game to suggestions. Overall it really seems like EA has done a great job of adjusting the games under EA Tiburon to community suggestions.

Well, I just spent the last 4 hours playing the UFC Undisputed 2009 demo on the PS3 and I have to say I'm impressed. The controls are straightforward but complicated, the graphic are lovely (I have never seen so many rednecks look so good in HD) and the damage mechanics are quite interesting (one punch knockouts and 3 round slugfests are as common as each other). More importantly, my friend Tam, who is the hardest to please person in the world when it comes to games, thought it was quite good. Will buy on May 19th :)

I really like the new Madden cover. Much better than a dude on a white bg

ive been playing ufc undisputed on advanced level (ps3) and my only gripe is that it is very difficult to make the fight last 3 rounds. All my fights were done by end of round one or mid of round 2. Although i havent tried the most hardest level yet.
Will definately buy it though. specially for make ure char mode.
also head to head my wife is leading 8-3....which makes me a sad panda

nhl 09 is a great game, been playing that series since i can remember.. nhl 94 & john vanbeisbrouck lol
i'm also a big fan of the fifa series, i have 08 for the 360 and it still gets tons of playtime.

Undisputed has been really good for the half hour or so I played of it. But I've got some gripes with the sheer amount of controls there are. Its nice to be able to do just about everything from the sport but it seems a bit overwhelming. Hoping the great reactions from the demo will push the Fight Night Round 4 team a bit harder.

So uh I havent played an NBA video game in about 12 years, so whats the difference between EA's Live series and the 2K series. Is one significantly better?

2k makes terrible baseball and hockey games so i don't see their basketball contribution being much different

It's a lot of fun, but career mode has a really steep learning curve. It goes from fights that you could win without a whole lot more than button mashing to fights where it'll take everything you have to make it out of the first round without getting submitted... My submission defense is currently my highest single trait and Leites fucked me up with some kind of vice grip leg shit on my arm in the second round. Though I did smash him into the ground to get out of an armbar in the first round, that was so fucking satisfying.

anyone remember this thread
VIDYA GAMES
i bought nba 2k10 (20bux on steam and the pc version is the best version) and it's really fun even though i don't really know dick about basketball
my logic for buying it was the idea that the sports that i follow these days are the ones that i played the video games of when i was younger (lots of various baseball games, lots of nhl series, little bit of football, no basketball outside of like nba jam) and maybe if i played basketball video games i could at least learn enough to not come in dead last this year in my fantasy basketball league
e: apparently i actually came in 3rd despite never paying attention to my team
