(yes I know there's already a thread, but I need a fresh one to run this properly)
Instead of just listing our predictions for the 2009 Stanley Cup playoffs, how about we run a little competition? Everyone who wants to play posts their predictions before each round, and points are awarded for correct results. I'll make a little leaderboard, and we'll think of something to grant the winner (rep? custom title?)
Each round will carry the same number of points - at first we just pick winners but in later rounds additional categories will be added.
Predictions must be in before the first game of each round; if you're late you'll either get 0 or half points depending on how late you are and how harsh I feel.
Current standings:

damn Pens. though admittedly Malkin's backhand was amazing. someone needs to start handing Crosby penalties for diving

Yea, him faking that slash was ridiculous. Should have been a game misconduct or something. God I can't stand diving.

woah, Kronwall just got thrown out of the game (and the wings a 5 minute major) for a clean hit. sure, havlat got knocked out, but there was nothing wrong with that hit.

NHL is getting stupid. Thanks bettman.
Great game though, glad hawks took that one, they deserved it.

just had a look at the penalty minutes - my prediction of Malkin is looking good. he has 25 PIMs, next highest is Talbot with 14
Tori Storm
June 14th, 2009, 10:51 PM
Sooooo....who has the most points now ?
Modest Genius
June 15th, 2009, 03:56 PM
so the results were pens in 7, mvp malkin, most PIMs malkin, most goals talbot (no way anyone could have predicted that, though one was an EN). updating table now.
result: tori wins by a mile. gg
