Group A - A hand ball gets you a below average group?
Group B - Things could get interesting.
Group C - If we (USA) can't advance through this group we should end the program.
Group D - First of all terrible job MD Greece is not in two groups I'm sure of it. Secondly, this group is surprisingly not a pushover.
Group E - Japan AND Cameroon? Sounds fun
Group F - Bleh kind of a boring group
Group G - Holy shit I'd be pissed if I was from Ivory Coast or Portugal
Group H - The rules of the World Cup should be changed so these games aren't played and only Spain advances. Joke city.

Oh man, I can't wait to once again sing "If you won the war, stand up" to any/all England supporters when we play them.

Group H - The rules of the World Cup should be changed so these games aren't played and only Spain advances. Joke city.

Maybe I'm just crazy but Spain having to play the 17th and 18th best teams in the world is "Joke city"? It's not an incredibly tough draw for them, but I'd call group F the joke group far before Spain's.

Maybe the rankings have improved after the last World Cup where the US was grossly overrated (I believe the formula's been updated) but that doesn't change the fact that Honduras made it largely due to a late USA goal and the fact remains they have a great chance at advancing now. Personally I feel like both groups are terrible. Perhaps my "joke city" comment should be expanded and reduced in harshness.

England and USA will breeze thru that group with no problems. I'll be very shocked if they do not!

Best team Italy has to face is 30th ranked Paraguay, lolz. Now if only I didn't fucking loathe the Italian national team...

And I'm predicting groups G (dur) and E to be most competitive.

Way too early for this but I'm going to see how I think the World Cup will turn out. Bold for first in group and italics for second.

GROUP D- Germany, Australia, Serbia, Ghana
GROUP E- Netherlands, Denmark, Japan, Cameroon

I'm well pleased with that, it'll be fun playing the yanks in our first game. here are my comments, though I'm not going to go through a full tournament guess.

Remind me close to the time and I'll run a prediction ladder like we did for the Stanley Cup.

A- South Africa, Mexico, Uruguay, France
SA should never have been seeded, they're one of the worst teams here, even with home advantage. France and Mexico to advance, but not without both cutting it fine with Uruguay.

B- Argentina, Nigeria, South Korea, Greece
Not the easiest group in the world, especially given how poor the Argies have been in qualifying. All four teams are good enough to go through, but I reckon Argentina and Greece. Should be really tight, though perhaps not as entertaining as some of the other groups.

C- England, USA, Algeria, Slovenia
If England don't win and USA don't come second, there's something wrong with the world. Mind you, England will probably have their traditional wobble and just about do it without looking at all convincing.

D- Germany, Australia, Serbia, Ghana
Easy group for the Germans, though any of the other three might join them. I'm tipping the Aussies, but not by much

E- Netherlands, Denmark, Japan, Cameroon
Holland should find this easy, Cameroon to join them.

F- Italy, Paraguay, New Zealand, Slovakia
Italy should find this easy too. Tight between Paraguay or Slovakia for second. I have the feeling NZ will win one game, and whoever loses that is out with them.

G- Brazil, North Korea, Cote d'Ivoire, Portugal
Holy shit, NK are SO screwed. Obviously two from three, but I reckon Portugal will be the group winners, they're always good under pressure. Tentatively going with Brazil to join them. This should be entertaining.

H- Spain, Switzerland, Honduras, Chile
Spain will win this, but the Swiss are a tidy team, and Chile can be a handful; either of those could make second.

I'd tip the Ivory Coast to come out of group G over Portugal. Physically powerful, good footballers and on, if not home ground, then at least the correct continent.

Never liked Portugal, i rate Ivory coast for the team winners with Brazil.

With Davies almost dying and DeMerit and Onyewu coming off injuries, I'm afraid we'll have another disappointing showing. It won't be the same team that beat Spain and almost beat Brazil.
