"'Hubris', that's all I have to say. 'Hubris'" Marko Gummer, a Freedonian civil servant, stood in a long line outside the First National Bank of Freedonia. He stands in the line with thousands of others trying to get what savings they had left to use for food. Freedonia, jointly decided with Phobos, Deimos and Val Verde so switch from the local currency (Dinko Ω) to the US dollar in 2005. This change was fueled by the instability of the Dinko at the time and the booming telecommunication, tourism and credit industries.

Investors flocked to the archipelago of Ares pouring in thousands of Euros, Dollars and Pounds causing the four nations of this report to switch to the dollar and relax corporate laws. Freedonia was the jewel of Ares bringing in more money per capita than the entirety of the southern islands. After aggressive expansion on a scale that can only be rivaled by the likes of Dubai, Freedonia racked up huge debts attempting to create a international resort destination. Val Verde spend the incoming money in international trade agreements and financing. Phobos and Deimos were a little more frugal with their GDP. They decided to invest into local infrastructure and the grand bridge project. The result of It was a multi national connection of all the islands in the Ares island chain.

A dear price was paid when the global economic crisis of 2008-9 struck. After changing from an industrial base to a service based economy Freedonia and Val Verde's entire economic infrastructure collapsed almost overnight. The other island of Phobos and Deimos fared better but not by far.

"It's shocking. Hell I'm too broke to pay attention right now." Jake Hudson, a out of work construction worker said from a Sisters of the Templar's soup line. "The sad thing is the government didn't even prepare. It's like they didn't even exist. I'm just very glad that people are doing what they can to keep the power on and some food to who needs it."

Mr. Hudson is speaking of course about the national outreach programs that are being spearheaded by GTS GbmH. Called Operation: Blue Sun, within the last few months GTS has taken up shop on a small island just off the coast and is providing meals, construction work and hospital services to the needy.

"It's really wonderful to take a break from combat operations to really help those who need it." Retired Marine LtCol Bryce 'Flash' Russett of GTS GbmH said in an interview. When questioned about military intentions of GTS he was quick to point.

"We have brought over one million personnel and their families to take up residence here. We have more than a million pallets of food to give away to who needs it. Many people have many uniforms. Mine just happens to be Multicam. If you want to start pointing fingers find the men that were incharge of Val Verde and Freedonia."

Colonel Russett brings up a good point. What has happened to the governments of Freedonia and Val Verde. Many feel that the men that were responsible for the mismanagement of the crisis simply packed up the remaining funds and flew to a non extradition nation.

"We are in such a bad shape we need a stable government to come in and help us." Marko Gummer said. "At this point I pine to be enslaved. That way I at least know that I would have work, a bed and some food. "

In a shocking and stunning move the nation of strum fabrick invaded Leicha just after dark last night. A massive air battle ensued with both the nations air fotces slugging it out for hours.

"It was scary." Sarah Ramos told RSN. "We heard the air raid sirens and we were cought outside. It was the greatest lights show that i ever saw. It was like the American national anthem. We didn't know which one were our
plaines so we all watched silently. We didn't know who was winning and then we saw the parachutes... I..." she teared up. "It was the worst thing I ever saw."

With what could be described as updated East Germain equipment that nation of strum fabrick launched a multi pronged blitzkrieg into their democratic neighbor of Lechia.. Assisted by their communist friends to the west, the LDF have fought a massive delaying action to trade land for time. The heaviest fighting has been in the east suburbs.

"It was a total shit fest." Lt Gen Marcus Allen said to our reporter Bob Toland, "you should have seen what F... 'One government official' was doing. He came hauling ass down her in his personal car screaming that someone should fire our surface to air missiles. I had to tell him that our boys were up there and I wasn't ready to hit any of them. We almost had to sedate him . He bugged out to his bunker when the first reports of paratroopers came in."

The General kicked at the cockpit of a destroyed strum C130. "Our Patriot crews are what saved us. It was a hell of a sight to see one of those battery quick fire all four rockets. We killed almost 3 companies worth before they hit the ground. Every one of those men on those sams are getting a metal. They drove them off before they could hit the ground. Those that did withdrew to their lines." The general picked up a broken G36 Assault rifle and threw it against the wreckage of a Sprut "Magic" tank. "We're going to win this one."

Tensions spill over in the border city of Enyo. Phobos and Deimos now at a state of war.

Turmoil from neighboring nations erupted today as civil unrest brewed up again and local Phobian Legion and DF army opened fire on each other in the crowded streets of Enyo.

What we know now is that the Phobian Legion struck at many points across the border. A 'fifth column' acting under the auspices of supporting the ethnic Phobians and seeking reunification with Phobos, agitated for autonomy in the split city of Enyo and brougt the situation to a head.

Ambassadors from Deimos quickly appealed to the United Nations about this act of war.

"We tried to quickly salvage the situation but we don't know what happened today. We have reason to believe that our forces were attacked without reason and Phobian officials demanded this additional territory." Prime Minister Bonnie Sacra said leaving chambers

In a daylight speech The Duchess of Doom, Amberly appeared with crown and staff in hand from her royal palace in Iustitia.

Phobos and Deimos @ war. What does it mean


These nations will be acting as a XP generator and a money generator for nations not currently at war. It will work like the 1936 Spanish civil war. Nations will donate units to fight on the behalf their choice nations. They will generate extra money in the provinces they take and XP for the battles they fight.

They may be recalled at any time. There is a restriction on what nation you may fight with. If your units fight during this civil war you will not start a war with the other nation you fight.

Your government type dictates who will support who:

Democracy, Monarchy can only support the forces of Deimos

Fascism, Dictatorship can only support the forces of Phobos

Communism can support both.

I will fight these battles as if it was my own nations. Phobos and Deimos are now hot and can be invaded and can invade you so be prepared.

Moments after the nuclear explosion in Jilachi we have learned that an offshoot militant group has attacked the Capitolium, known locally as the "Fish Bowl", and has set fire to the building. One can speculate that the actions were coordinated. We can hear gunfire at the moment as more police and firefighters are arriving on scene.

Atomic Attack Ares

1945. The first and last year that an atomic weapon was used, until now. Just after dark last night Jilachi, Yuktobania became only the third city in the world to experience the nuclear nightmare. Across Ares came the cries of condemnation and a terrorist attack in the peaceful nation Grosnya where the Capitolium building burned.

One has to ask if these two events are related. This reporter has found out that they are.

This video was released by Yuktobania an hour ago. Our sharp eyed viewers can see that the equipment that was destroyed is not Yuktobania. But is in fact from The Imperium. You can see the emblem and flag off of the wing right there

This reporter has learned that although Yuktobania was attacked with a nuclear weapon last night it was not Yuktobania forces that were destroyed. The attack was directed at the armed forces of The Imperium.

Across the Boston Bay The Grosnyan government's congress hall burned. After a firefight between Federal Police and Ravenwood security detail one of the terrorists was arrested. A terrorist that was directly linked to The Imperium.

Here's what we know now. Before the attack in Jilachi air raid sirens were heard along with the sounds of jets. We know that the only forces destroyed in the attack were from The Imperium and that an Imperium separatist was arrested in connection with burning the 'Fish Bowl'.

One could speculate that one of the greatest false flag operations is happening right now. An argument can be made that the governments of Yuktobania and Grosnya are in cahoots. Or Occam's razor could apply, both of these events are separate and unconnected.

What this reporter can tell you is this. Whoever launched a nuclear weapon has not clamed responsibility and it can be assumed that it is more than one government in play.

Terror in Das Reich

Reports from Kaiserreichsstadt say the air was filled with the wail of sirens and minutes later up to eight bombers streaked in and exploded in balls of flame. Residents scrambled for protective clothing and gas masks, issued to most of the population before the conflict began. Casualties are believed to have been light - nobody was killed, and only a few people injured. It is the first time Kaiserreichsstadt has been hit in the history of the Ares conflict.

Initial reports that one of the missiles had a nuclear warhead were quickly proved wrong. Air raid sirens went off again this evening amid fears of a second bomber attack, but they were swiftly followed by an all-clear as it proved to be a false alarm. Das Reich has the strongest military forces of any Ares country, and has said that any attack by nation would bring massive "punishment".

The primary focus of the bombers was in the west at the local air force base. Thousands of minelets fell past the curtain of antiaircraft fire and impacted on the runway. Luckily, none of the aircraft were on the runway.

"It's going to take a while for our EOD guys to clean this up, but we'll have her back up and running in time for air ops in about two weeks." SSgt Lickdensten.

Thanks Amelia, tonight RSN has ascertained information that may rattle a nation to it's core. We have learned that the attack carried out on the sovereign nation of Das Reich was planned an ultimately executed by the Totenkopf air force.

Now we believe that Das Reich and Totenkopf to be allies at this point, but the evidence obtained by RSN implicates Totenkopf's American made B-2 Spirit bombers in the attack of the airfield.

This desk has been unable to reach Totenkopf or Das Reich for comment but I would expect that there would be some explaining to do.

In short order the retired Oil Tycoon, Rodrigo B. Slug, has come to power and reestablished political connections to his sister nations in Ares. He quickly reunified his nation and forced the withdrawal of Noblax troops from 4-20. The great leader of Noblax Capt. Colon was available for comment.

Three days after the deceleration of war between Phobos and Deimos the local populace has risen up to fight back the invaders.

"Were damn lucky that the Duchess of Doom hates the population owning guns." Ted Larson said holding his L1A1. "That's why I moved here from Phobos in the first place. Their military is made up of flamethrowers and napalm. Too bad I can shoot through fire." He smiled.

The partisans have been striking at the supply lines of PDF for the last few days stalling the advance into their nation.

"Were doing what we can for our military right now. We were off guard but we'll take the fight to them."

Sensing a major vulnerability in their defensive lines the supreme commander of Sturm Waffenfabrik forces ordered an emergency evacuation of all available air crews.

"We've been moving shit all week" CH-53 Pilot Theo Bundy said taking a break. "Every other hour we have more reports that the enemy is closer and closer. Now I know what the Marines in Saigon feel like in '72"

Crews abandoned a squadron of SU-27's and MiG-27's that were more or less forgotten.

We have been asked by the government to hold this report until it was obvious that their men was safe. We only listened to the request to save lives.

By this time the Yuktobanian Ground Forces are entering the gates of an empty airbase.

Without major incident this afternoon, the VVBP stopped the 17th "Love Sonata" Mech. Division from the nation of Kupton. There were no shots fired but there were some confused looks on peoples faces.

The Deimos Defense Force have been living up to their name for the past few weeks. With major pushes by Phobos and no known international support. The DDF has been trying to trade land for time.

But today they have made a stand at the airport. There were reports of Totenkopf paratroopers landing in the west and heading to the airport. Every aircraft that the DAF had scrambled to help with the defense.

They are using outdated equipment...

All throughout the lines last night Val Verde commandos prepaired for the assault that everyone knew was coming. "We can hear em' Off in the distance. Those tank engines travel for miles. It's gonna be big." Scattered reports indicate that there will be over fifteen divisions in this onslaught. Some are predicting that this will become a modern day Stalingrad. After a brief lull in combat IRON has pressed the advantage again trying with renewed vigor to take the airfield. The artillery from IRON has not stopped since this morning and the Strum/Val Verde/Reich lines have not faltered as of yet.

Retired Politburo member Pavel Leonidovich Alekseyev, collapsed tonight in a performance of Wagner's 'The Ring.' It was not Supreme General Basticlovich as reported earlier this evening. Mr Alekseyev complained of malaise and headache before collapsing just after the start of the fourth act. He was rushed to University of Cinigrad memorial hospital. His condition is unknown at this time.

Word is coming in right now of a two massive firefights in downtown Minsk and Athens. Federal Police were tipped off just as the teams entered the banks. With the way that they move and fire one can assume that they are some sort of Special Operations task group or Soldiers of Fortune. There is no word yet of causalities or damage inflicted.
