First days of FA experience

what was your first day of FA like? did you find yourself among the elite from back in the 2.5 days? or did you start out as one of the very first? tell us about your first day of FA! (i sound like some kind of commercial dont i :/)

I think the first time i played i went on the [RA] server while furball, mouse and a few others were playing and talking on rcon. Even though i had about 200 ping instead of the 70~ on UK servers, the people were pretty cool, so i stuck around.

First game of FA, I had like 3 kills and around 30 deaths. It was great. I WAS playing on a modem at that point though, so that's what I'll blame it on.

Dont remember what map and such but i held my own considering the computer i was using :P

It really sucked! Was on 800x600 with around ~20 FPS. Needless to say i did better on my new(er) comp.

My first day I was playing on GOD I think, definately some other places. The only thing I clearly remember is that at one point I tried the Aug (2.5) and didn't know what it was called so when people were saying "Drop the aug" I made no connection between myself and the complaints, thinking aug was short for augmentation and some kind of slang for hax.

i started playing in 2.7 (more than not) but i had played 2.6 i think round a friend i went m16/m203 (friends setup and i was whored like a bitch ... I don't remember the map name but it had a cliff side on one of the starting teams side and you climed up and ther was a small sort of tower, and a moneky on a massively high cliff, and some train yard or somthing. I think i went like 1 to 4 lol

I think I played ps_check as one of the first maps and cold war.

I played with *=NS=*, joined it shortly after and I'm still friends with a guy who I played with in that clan. Turns out he lives close by (1hr drive).

my brother some how found out about FA, ( it was FA 2.5 like right before 2.6 came out )and showed me it, i think it was at iwojima, and everyone had mortars or something, or it was at outlands, or bridge, everyone wa susing spam, i remember whoring the steilhands and claymore.

ah, the origins of my claymore whoring. lol

but i stopped playing FA so many times, to go play DoD, that i suck at FA now. :(

i started in 2.7

a friend of mine told me about it because we were tired of playing DOD. I joined a server and the first map i played was balcome. I was pretty confused, back then i was pretty dumb, i didnt check the controlls and i was just running around. Then some guy saw i was a noob and started making me bind keys. at the time i was like wtf. Then i went ontop of the towers with an mg to camp. I put my bipod on and i saw an enemy run towards teh bridge. I started to shoot at him and he didnt die, he ran across the bridge and i just was spraying at him. I could not aim for shit, and i was bitchign that he didnt die. I was screaming HES GOING FOR THE TRUCK GET HIM AHHHHHH. next thing you know it boom.

Then from there i went to go play on the chunkeys boys server.

I remember the day when this guy called SAMSON came into the server, everyone was like UGH samson. I was like why is everyone ugh with this guy. The map was sandblast, next thing you know it the top right of my screen just fills with famas kills from samson. Samson sticks around for about 50 kills then leaves and everyone was like FINNALLY, now we dont have that whore around killing the fun. I personally was amazed because killed me so fast, i didnt think it was possible to do what he could do (only to find out later in my fa career that what he did just takes lots of practice).

Then one day this guy fastkill911 came into the server, the map was marie and he was just rackin up kills. Everyone was screaming hacker, he never said a word. again i was amazed of how he could kill so fast.

At the time it seemed that every good player that came in and used the famas. So i decided to try it and couldnt kill for it. I was mostly an uzi whore from 2.7 to begining 2.8. Then i decided to try other guns when i relized this thing lacked distance.

At the time this guy named "|" came into the server (later to find out it was Flem) who used an m16 and he had pretty precise aim, i didnt think someone could be so consistent. But i tried the best i could to achieve such aim. Eventually i got it, but it was to late because most of the good players stoped playing and FA wasnt just wat it was when i started playing.

It was those 3 players samson, fastkill and flemb that really amazed me and you can say inspired me to keep playing this game. There are many others like psyco|tooL| and albrech (sp?) who were really stealthy and got around pretty quick.

and i remember playing tp_tennis one time on a smaller server.. anyone play that recently?

2.5, i tried the game out, at first I didn't like it, ugly graphics. But some time later I wanted to try it again, I think it was appealing to the RPG-part of my brain, rather than the fps-part wich was later the driving force behind my gaming.

I remember a completely chaotic , impossible round on ps_marie. Since FA was my first serious fps online ever I didnt understand anything.. The game was so fast and chaotic, It couldn't be controlled. But during that game, the second ever for me, I saw two players completely owning everything and they proved me wrong. I still remember it crystal clear, it was H.H.Holmes and A.I.Susi.

Then I went on to be the greatest player ever to play the game.

lol i remember the first time i played like it was yesterday, it was back in 2.6, and i came from playing tfc so fa was like soo realistic, and the map was swamp i believe, and i was soo lost lol i didnt know who were my guys, and i had what else, but the wonderful ssg and i figured after getting kicked for team killing, i found out i was shooting the wrong team lol

I started in 2.7. I wasn't sure about the game at first but heard great things about. One day I went on the zoo server, I believe it was force and since I was new and didn't understand what was going on, I wanted to use a weapon with lots of bullets, so I went with the m60 :D. I wasn't into rushing at the time, I just found a good spot and waited for them to come to me. I couldn't believe how powerful the m60 was and that I was able to get kills, the cool part I thought for the m60 was being able to crouch and shoot at the same time but of course now that's no more :(

My first game of FA was 2.3 on a lan, where we a couple of guys who were quite good at it and some total noobs (me)

I forgot what the map is called (where you have to destroy crates in a forest, with a huge waterfall and a bridge in the middle) and I do remember sucking hard.

And my first combo was something like AK47/MP5/Nelli or something rediculous like that, so that didn't help either. I do remember having to stop every 5 seconds because I took heavy armor later on because I was getting insta killed.

I always took full light body armor. There was also this neat trick, where you could prime a grenade, switch weapon and once you switched back to grenade you exploded.

I played suicide bomber for a while after that.
