View Full Version : Weapons: Odd shotgun loadings......

Does anyone remember the link to a company that sold some really out there shotgun loadings? They had crap like fish hook rounds and fireworks, things like that. No real reason, I just remember being entertained by it and I can't find it anymore........

Compared to the mortars you can buy in a fireworks stand? Not really.

The closest thing I've seen to fireworks are bird bombs, which are pretty much an M80 you launch out of your shotty to scare flocks of birds or other animals away...or your buddies who are 80 yards down the trail on the sporting clays course :D

I dont have the sitename offhand, but do a few searches for novelty ammunition, or dragons-breath (various spellings) or exotic ammo and you'll find it quick.

this might be it or it might not

12 GA. "Piranha"
This 12 gauge round contains dozens of razor sharp steel tacks that blast out at high velocity which virtually guarantees that there will no response from the perpetrator. Each round is buffed with #12 shot thus creating a double shock to the wound area. Absolutely will not harm your shotgun. To be used no closer than 10 feet and no further than 50 feet. Cannot be shipped to: P.O. Boxes, APO, GU, FPO, IL, HI, AK or PR.. 2 3/4" round.

OH MY GOD!

These people are some fucking sadistic mother fuckers. Jesus Christ, I feel sorry for the people who gets hit by any of these rounds.

Ugh. Especially the Pitbull.

12 GA. Door Duster

Super effective for blowing out door locks, door hinges and dead bolts. This special shotgun shell has a charge of compressed powered metal that is very dense and strikes the target with devastating force, then instantly turns into metal dust. Thus the door lock is blown off and penetration is virtually reduced to zero. Recommended safe distance is 15 feet from the door. Material used in disintegrator round is a non-carcinogenic dust. 23/4” round.Well thank god for that. Now i can breathe in metal dust without worrying about my health.

I know what you mean, I was reading the descriptions on all their speciality shells and cringing.

About those weird "full-auto" imitator trigger mechanisms, are those actually legal in states like California?

12 GA. "Macho Gaucho"
The device made famous by the Argentine Cowboy is called the "bolo". This device consisted of two heavy balls connected by a string and was thrown at and wrapped around an animals legs causing it to trip. Now this idea has been adapted for the 21st century in the form of a 12 Gauge shotgun round. This round consists of two lead slugs connected by a steel wire that whirls and twirls during flight devastating your target. Try your hand at being a 21st century cowboy today. 2 3/4" round.

Imagine shooting someone/getting hit in the cajones. On second thought, don't, I immediatley regret my first statement.

I'd say it's more like 18th century chainshot, used in naval cannons, than a bolo.

Sounds like fun to shoot though. Dunno if it'd really work as intended, however.

12 GA. Terminator-X

The lethality contained within the hollow core slug of our terminator 12 GA. almost can't be advertised. Upon impact, this slug mushrooms and expands to nearly 2 inches, stopping the slug from totally penetrating your objective. This rapid expansion forces the dozen of tiny pellets to spread through your objective like a cancerous disease, opening an area at the impact point equal to a softball! The cavity created has the shock effect of 95%! That means only 5% of any living being could survive this kind of hit.23/4” round

whoa

A lot of that shit sets off my wtf-o-meter, but these look fun:

12 GA. “Flame Thower”
The 12 Ga. "Flame Thrower" round as pictured produces an enormous wall of fire for 250+ feet. The incendiary metal compound contained inside burns when fired at over 4000 degrees fahrenheit, showering your target in a momentary wall of flame. WARNING! Extreme fire hazard. Do not shoot in any dry grass foliage, trees, or near flammable materials. Don’t shoot indoors. Use extreme caution. 23/4” round
Sounds not very good for the gun though :|

lol i like the warning on that flame thrower one, but yeah that doesnt seem at all safe for the barrel or any part of the gun

The flame one probably uses thermite II as the incendiary metal. I made some along time ago (like grade 11) and lit some on top of a person car hood. After 15 minutes of trying to get it lit (we needed fucking MAGNESIUM to light...thank god I stole from my chem class) it blasted away. Looked like lava kinda.

After it burned through the guys hood it landed on the block. After it burned about an inch in, we decided to beat it. Apparenlty the stuff is impossible to extinguish because it doesn't need oxygen to burn. You can cover it in sand or water and it will still brun until all of the rust and aluminum is burnt away.

That shotgun shell is sick.

Let me guess, it seemed like a good idea at the time? :p

Seriously though, the dumbest person out of your group was whoever decided to let you use their car hood for that. In the mid to late 1800s in the US, people who worked for the railroad company who use thermite to weld together railroad tracks and repair breaks.

Hmm, chemical reaction that produces molten iron hot enough to weld together thick railroad tracks. I wonder if I should put it on a car hood that's not even half an inch thick?

MANY of their shotgun shells are normal loads that you can buy from Sellier and Belliot. The mix loads (buck and bird shot) are called turkey laods. Hollow point slugs are normal, I have a case of 100 I picked up from Wally World for 30 bucks Their 'dragonsbreath' knockoff rounds are TOTAL JUNK. I remember the HPD confiscated a case of them from some dealer who thought he was gonna use them on people. Totally destroyed the gas system of the shotgun we played with one in, burned the rest, and didnt make as impressive an effect as they claim, did little more than damage the gun, foul the bore with melted metal, and make a loud noise with a big flash. Firearm was a writeoff. Their 'pitbull' round is actually a carbuster. Rounds made to punch through the metal of the body, then deliver pellets inside the vehicle. There are others, but those are the ones i can recall offhand :) Those ruger 10/22 bullpup stocks are TOTAL TRASH. Get a half decent bullpup, go buy a bushmaster m17.

No shit. The most fun I ever had in Boy Scouts was when we went to the USS North Carolina and they had a AA mount that we could play around on. And it was right under the airport approach too :)
